Got a call from an Indian guy who said his name was Kunal and he was from Phoenix Commercial. He mentioned both our companies and even named some partners, but I have no clue who he is or what business he’s on about.

This number hasn’t been active for ages it seems. I got a call from an Indian lady claiming to be with Carphone Warehouse offering me a new phone. When I asked where in London she was calling from, especially since we’re in lockdown, she just ended the call. Definitely a scam!

Received a call on my landline today, claiming to be from HMRC. They were insisting that I hadn't paid my taxes over the last five years, despite the fact I was a bus driver during that period-payments always have taxes and national insurance taken off, don't they? They demanded I cough up £3,000! I ended the call quite abruptly. What a load of nonsense!

On 21/11/2017 around 9 in the morning, got a call from what sounded like another HMRC scammer with an accent. I fed them some made-up info and said I’d contacted the police station about their call. They hung up quick when I said that, definitely a scam!

While I was writing this, I got another call and this time a bloke with a strong Indian accent said his name was Peter. He struggled to say my name right and started going on about telephone preference lists. I got loads of calls from this number today, about 15 times, which was really stressful since my dad isn’t well. When I picked up, they just hung up. Then when I tried calling them back, the number didn’t come up as valid. Proper worrying stuff.

Really pushy today, reckon it’s one of those call centres down at Canary Wharf. They kept pretending they were from the TPS or something, proper annoying. I told this guy, Derek, who sounded Indian, that he was just trying to scam me for info. I said from tomorrow, I’m blocking all marketing calls anyway. I pay bills on time, my bank gets hacked but I’m done with their nonsense. Told him to just buzz off.

Been getting calls all day from the same number. At first, just silence, then some foreign voice comes on asking for me by name and if I’m the account holder. I said no, trying to end the call, and then they said they were with some telephone preference service but weirdly warned I’d be getting more marketing calls starting tomorrow. This number has called me three times now. The caller said my debit card was going to expire back in 2017 and asked me to verify it since my phone bill is paid by direct debit. When I asked what the debit card had to do with that, he just rambled on about the three-digit code on the back. I told him I wasn’t interested and hung up. Pretty obvious this was a scam trying to get money from your bank account. Watch out!
