I received a call from someone purporting to be from Carphone Warehouse, claiming they could provide me with the same network and number but at a more affordable rate. I suspect this is merely a scam.

I've been plagued by these callers all morning long! Like many others have suggested, I attempted to throw them off by providing some made-up information. However, they were relentless, insisting I divulge the six digits from the bottom of my card, namely the bank sort code. I replied that if they truly had my information, they should be able to share it with me instead. The manager, however, was quite confrontational, practically shouting at me. I made it clear that I didn’t want any more calls. Since then, I've received five more that I've deliberately ignored. I really hope no one gets tricked by this scam!

I've received a handful of calls today; some were eerily silent while others featured various foreign accents all droning on about the Telephone Preference Service. They completely dodged my questions and refused to accept a simple 'no' from me. Consequently, I've blocked the number.

I’ve received a total of seven calls from this number over the past couple of days, both on my mobile and landline. The caller had a noticeable Indian accent and was well aware of my name and address, speaking about matters related to call barring. It was quite peculiar that they knew I’m on the telephone nuisance call barring service. I only engaged in conversation on the first call, as I hung up thereafter. I’m really perplexed as to how these individuals obtained such detailed information about me, including my mobile number and my registration with the Telephone Preference Service. Is it possible that my personal details are being sold by the very companies meant to safeguard my privacy? I’m genuinely keen to understand how they gain access to all of this information.

I received a call earlier from a person with an Indian accent claiming they could put a stop to all unwanted calls for good. They stated they were the sole valid company permitted to provide this service. However, I find it hard to believe you can actually identify nuisance calls without engaging in a conversation with the caller. Sounds to me like a complete con.

I received a call around 12.04 on the 3rd of November, 2017. The caller, a man with an accent that seemed to be African, was speaking about a service aimed at blocking unwanted marketing calls. Strangely enough, he already had my last name and was keen on verifying my address details, which set off alarm bells. I sensed something fishy and posed a question, at which point he abruptly ended the conversation. This feels like a blatant attempt to get more of my personal information. Exercise caution, everyone!
