Received an email claiming I’d won £3000 as a “Wednesday winner,” but I was a bit suspicious so I looked up the number online and the info I found made things clearer. You know what they say, nothing’s truly free, like that saying with free lunches. Just went back and saw a popup asking why I hadn’t called, said I don’t have time for a holiday and never got around to ringing them. This kind of pushy behaviour feels really invasive and for me, it should be blocked since it’s clearly a hard sell scam. 10/09/2013

So the local number popped up on my phone with an offer for a $3000 holiday, which I was pretty dubious about. I rang anyway, expecting the usual spiel. As I guessed, they went on and on about how lucky I was to be chosen and about the unforgettable experience waiting for me. I kept asking if it was actually free or if I’d have to pay something, and after about 15 minutes they finally admitted it’d cost me $898! The full price was apparently $3000. I said no thanks nicely, but then got passed to this really rude American bloke who called me a muppet and said I thought a free meal was on the cards. Apparently it was a timeshare pitch and he reckoned I was too thick to see a good deal when it was right in front of me. Should’ve listened to my gut from the start. Now I’m just waiting for my phone and email to be bombarded since I foolishly gave them my info.

I had this pop up on my computer saying I'd won a $3000 travel voucher or something like that, supposed to be picked at random! Happened on 16/9/13.
