This number really belongs to the Supreme Court, no doubt about that. But just a heads up, scammers are experts at faking caller ID and often say they’re from HMRC, like others have mentioned here. They usually know a bit about you and try to scare you by saying you owe thousands in taxes and face legal action. Real HMRC never ring you up asking for money over the phone. Best thing is to just hang up straight away. Also watch out, because sometimes the scammers keep the call active, so if you try to dial HMRC back, you might still be connected to the crooks pretending to be them.

I got a call from 02079601900 yesterday morning, this bloke with a thick Indian accent who claimed he was from HM. He frightened me into coughing up over £3000, telling me I'd be arrested for dodging taxes if I didn’t pay right away. He even sent me what looked like official paperwork from HM, but I’m now realising it was all a scam. I’m proper gutted and can’t believe I fell for it.

Saw they rang me but when I dialled the number back it claimed it was invalid. How’s that possible if they managed to get through to me in the first place? Bit strange if you ask me...
