Got a call from a robotic voice that sounded pretty real. It started off asking if I’d been in a ‘car crash’ and used voice recognition to catch a yes or no. If you say the right thing, it connects you to a person who then bombards you with loads of personal questions, trying to dig up your details. Not sure if it’s a legit injury firm or just someone fishing for info to use otherwise. Best to just block this number straight away.

Typical car accident nonsense. I went along with it, even said there was other folks in the car with me when it supposedly happened. They got all hyped up, asking loads of questions and wanting me to describe the crash so they could help with the claim. Then I casually mentioned how smashed I was when it went down, saying I wasn't sure if it was my fault at all. That totally threw them off their game - they just ended the call. Number's blocked now.

their initial questions were asked via VOICE RECOGNITION, so if you give "incorrect" answers, the system just cuts you off. After a bit, I managed to get through to a real person (even though the robot voice was really lifelike, with just the right pauses between questions). I gave them some more fibs and told them to take my number off their list since they’re probably breaking rules, then I got hung up on. So, I reckon I might have wasted some of their time stopping them from bothering maybe more vulnerable folks, and maybe my number's now on their blacklist (who knows).

Some bloke rang claiming to be from 'Microsoft' saying my Windows was sending errors to their server. He had me enter the assoc command and then read out my CLSID number. I said it was identical on all my computers, so he connected me to his supervisor who wanted me to repeat it all again - then just hung up. At least I wasted about 10 mins of their time, likely stopping them from hitting a few others. Tried ringing the number back but it came up as unknown, naturally.
