I haven't the foggiest who these individuals are, and since I'm quite selective about sharing my mobile number (we're talking less than thirty folks), I can confidently say it's not anyone I'm familiar with. If it were, they'd surely have the sense to avoid ringing me-and they’d know exactly why that is. My phone provider has recorded my request to keep my number confidential, so it's evident this is just someone browsing through numbers at random.

Clearly, they come across as a dodgy bunch trying to extract some sort of cash from unsuspecting souls, either directly or through dubious means.

I've simply erased their call without engaging in any manner.

It came across as a proper robot voice to me, and it seemed like if you said anything other than ‘yes’ about the traffic crash question, it just hangs up. But knowing these things can be dodgy, I asked, "Where exactly did you get that info from?" and then they just ended the call. Definitely a scam.

It sounded like a robotic setup with pre-recorded bits, I guess they’re using some sort of voice recognition tech. They told me they thought I’d had a car crash, when I said no, they quickly said sorry, like they’d got the wrong person. From what I’m seeing here, it’s obvious they’re cold calling.
