i picked up the phone and they wanted to speak to someone who apparently had this number like 6 years ago. when i told them that person wasn’t available, they just hung up on me without saying anything else. pretty sure it’s the same firm that keeps calling from different numbers.

Some bloke said he was Patrick Walker from Microsoft in London, trying to help with a virus on my laptop. But honestly, his accent sounded like he was from somewhere in Asia, which made me a bit suspicious especially since I have an Asian last name. A family member fell for a similar scam not long ago and ended up giving away passwords over the phone. These con artists can be really convincing, especially to folks who might not be as careful.
