Got a call claiming there was a crash, and not my fault apparently. Total load of rubbish though, cos I was completely to blame. Was doing 65 on the M1 and lost it while trying to change a tricky key on my trombone at the same time.

Whenever those calls come through, if I’m not busy, I mess about a bit and stretch them out. But if you wanna shut them down fast, just tell them you’re a Detective Inspector (I like saying “from the Yard”) and ask “How exactly do you know the person who passed away?” That usually does the trick. Sometimes I have a laugh pretending I’m ringing from a Chinese takeaway or the Aussie embassy. It’s quite amusing!

I answered a call from this number because they said they could lower my mobile phone bill. Sounded pretty genuine at first but it was a total rip off. I’d advise you not to pick up if they ring you.

I’m a pensioner in my mid-eighties and I’ve found a simple trick to handle scam calls. Whenever the phone rings from a dodgy number, I just keep saying “Hello” over and over again. It usually throws them right off, and they’ll ask something like “Are you there? Hello?” But I don’t stop, I just keep going “Hello, hello, hello…” Honestly, it gives me a chuckle seeing them get all confused before they finally give up and hang up. Seems to do the trick every time, and maybe, just maybe, they’ll decide to cross my number off their lists!

Any call that starts with 0207946 is a total waste of time. Although it looks like a London number, it's actually fake and often used in movies or books. This number kept ringing me like 3 times a day. At last I picked up & turns out its a total scam. Honestly dont bother picking up, just block it straight away! Big thanks to the folks who share these numbers, really appreciate it!

What an utter ordeal! I'm thoroughly exasperated and have resorted to blocking the number. The frustrating thing is, they'll likely try ringing me again from yet another number.

020 7946 0370 rang me on my mobile, a woman claiming to be Sarah Johnson asked if there had been a car accident involving me or anyone in my house! Loads about the call felt off, so I cut it short and blocked the number straight away.

Just got two calls from this number. First time I ignored it cos I was busy at work, then they called again and I picked up since I was waiting for a delivery. Thought it might be the courier but nope, this woman answers and immediately asks why I hung up or if it was accidental! Proper rude! I told her I ended the call cos I was working and asked who they were, then the line just went dead! Blocked them straight away!

They told me I'd been in an accident, but I told them no. Then she asked if anyone else in the house had been involved - I said no. She said she'd remove me from their list. We'll wait and see! I'm signed up with the TPS, so that really makes no difference!

Got a call about 1:23pm today, they said they’d got some details about an accident. Asked them where they got that info from and they said the 'RTA statistics department'. I asked what exactly that was and they said it’s the Road Traffic Accident statistics department. Then I asked which organisation it belonged to and they said they’d put me onto their supervisor. Got the same spiel again, then they just hung up on me.

Got a cheeky lady calling sayin I’d been in a car smash. When I asked who it was, she just kept firing questions at me without me sayin a word. Told a few mates to block the number too. Then she went asking for my address. Number’s 02079460370 - blocked now.

I got a call from this number someone was asking if I had been in a car crash. They wanted loads of personal info like my full name, where I live, birthday and kept probing for more details. It just didn’t sit right with me so I asked them to email me from their company instead. They said they would call back but never did. Watch out folks, this seemed dodgy to me.

picked up the phone but the caller just ended the call right away, so i tried calling back from a different number and got told "sorry, the number you're trying to reach can't be found"
