Some dodgy scammer called me, claiming my Argos parcel had been put on hold because of some "inappropriate order." Thing is, I don’t really order from Argos much, but this time I thought I had. It definitely wasn’t anything dodgy - just a Lego Speed Champions set I wanted (the Mercedes AMG SL63 and the G63). I ended the call quickly, blocked the number, and got in touch with Argos straight away. They told me they'd sort it and even ended up giving me a refund, weirdly enough. Got £45 back in the end.

Got a call from a strange number today. The person was threatening to arrest me over some supposed £10,000,000 debt. I knew straight away it was a dodgy call, so I just ended it. For starters, I live in the UK, so they should've talked in pounds, not dollars. Plus, the caller had an American accent, not British. Got a call from someone asking if my place was rented or mortgaged. When I asked where they were calling from, they gave a local London address. Got a call from some bloke claiming to be HMRC, threatening arrest if I don’t pay tax owed. Really pushy guy, number was blocked.

Sounds like someone from Africa telling me I owe £1000 to HMRC or something. Honestly, the guy sounded completely daft. These scammers need to find a proper job instead of wasting everyone's time.

Really, it’s all a load of rubbish. I’ve blocked the number and made a report. They claimed I’d be arrested over some unpaid tax with HMRC. The caller tried to get me to pay £10,000 and asked for my bank details. I just hung up straight away and blocked the number. Honestly, I can’t understand why phone companies let these fraudsters get hold of our numbers. These scammers clearly have nothing better to do than bother innocent people.

Got a call just now threatening I'll be arrested if I don't pay some HMRC tax. They wanted my card info, obviously a load of rubbish. Proper annoying. I've blocked the number but honestly, I don't get why phone companies even give these idiots access to our numbers.

I ended up having to ring EE to get them to block loads of different numbers all ringing me from the same firm. Honestly, they’re complete rubbish and seem to have nothing better to do than pester folks constantly.

Someone said they were from GMC and they actually knew my name. But when I checked their details, it showed they were from Australia. I asked if that was right, and as soon as I answered, they just said bye and ended the call.

About 10 minutes ago, I got a call telling me to press 1 to avoid HMRC coming to arrest me! I didn’t press anything and they just ended the call. I’m signed up with TPS but they say they can’t act on recorded messages. I’ve now blocked the number.
