3 yearsI recently received a rather dubious email claiming to be from Casper Loans. Shortly thereafter, they rang me up, and I must confess, the whole thing felt a bit off. So, naturally, I decided to investigate the number, and lo and behold, it was a complete scam. They were rattling on about a £1,000 loan to be repaid over 24 months at £47.81 a month. Then, as if it couldn't get any more suspicious, I received another call from the same number, pressuring me to accept the loan right away, insisting they just needed my bank sort code and account details. I’m not daft enough to part with that information, especially since I’ve never even applied for a loan with anyone! They present themselves as a loan company, but it appears they operate under various guises, each time with a different loan officer yet using the same telephone numbers. Initially, they’ll grant you approval for a loan, but then they demand a £25 insurance fee. The catch is, they’ll claim that the funds will be transferred to your account, but only after you cough up an additional £125.
