Got a call from a private number. The person asked for accounts payable and whether we were a supplier they needed to talk to and if we owed them anything. I said yes to keep them talking but quickly checked our records and found no trace of them. Told them this and only then did they admit who they were and that it was about some overseas payments. Not sure why they tried to fib at the start.
