First, I say something like, “Hello there, you’ve reached ‘pop your cork’,” then switch to a really serious tone telling them the message might be offensive and that calls are £4 per minute, with mobile calls a lot dearer. I received a call from this number today around 1.30 pm on my landline. An Asian chap named Daniel claimed he was representing an outfit called Today’s Living. He attempted to verify my phone number, which struck me as rather peculiar since he had just dialled it. He also inquired if I was the homeowner. I declined to provide any information and had to speak over him to make it clear that this was an uninvited call that I had no interest in and requested to be removed from whatever list they were using for these calls. He continued to interrupt me quite rudely as I was trying to communicate, so I eventually just ended the conversation.
