Got calls from some bloke about a car accident I supposedly had, but I’ve never even had a full licence. Then he says it’s about Mr Steve, that they owe me money. I asked for my second name and he just goes quiet, saying “Mr Steve” again. I asked for my details if they really owed me cash, but then he started swearing at me. I blocked the number but he keeps ringing from different ones every time I post on Gumtree. It’s the same guy, same voice, just new numbers all the time. This has been happening for months. What a complete pain in the backside this guy is.

I put an ad up on Gumtree and almost immediately got a phone call. The guy started by asking how I was and said he was ringing about an accident. When I asked where he got my number, he claimed an insurance company gave it to him. I told him to remove my number from his list and never ring me again. He promised he would. Then, after I posted another advert on Gumtree, the same bloke called me again! I firmly told him one last time to erase my number and stop calling, or else I’d report him, then I ended the call. Now I’ve blocked his number altogether. Honestly, it’s just absurd!

Weird thing is, they somehow make UK mobiles and landlines pop up even though they’re not based here. I’m from a British Indian background and can’t figure out how they get away with this.
