I noticed this number popped up on my missed calls for our landline, ringing three times while we were out yesterday. This morning at 8am it showed as 'International' on the caller ID but I didn’t pick up, and no voicemail was left. After reading the comments here, I’ve gone ahead and blocked it. Thanks to everyone on this great site for the heads-up. I reckon OFCOM should really put a stop to these foreign scammers buying up numbers. Maybe if everyone who uses this site sent a letter to their MPs, it might make a difference?

Got a call from a dodgy American robot voice with awful grammar telling me BT was about to cut off my internet. Total scam. Whatever you do, don’t hit 1 or 2 like they ask to call back. That’s probably just a trick to land you with an expensive phone bill!

They say if u follow their demands ur internet will be cut off, which sounds mad to me. What I can't get my head round is why BT don’t actually put a stop to it, surely it’s not in their interest to let this go on. I’m planning to write to my MP about this before Christmas. If you’re bothered too, maybe send a letter to your MP, just write Addressee only, House of Commons, Westminster on the envelope.

Just like loads of others, I’m getting about three of these scam calls every day, each one from a different number. Most times I can tell straight away they’re dodgy, but this time they used a number that looked genuine. Seriously, BT needs to do something about this!

I've been getting a bunch of calls like this too, from a recorded American lady saying my BT Internet will be cut off. What's odd is, I've got no BT line at all and my internet still works perfectly fine. Seems like a load of rubbish to me.

I keep getting calls that say they’re from BT, but obviously they’re not. Most times it’s an automated voice with an American accent. BT can’t seem to do much about it because the calls come all the way from India or Pakistan (big shock, right?). They use fake UK phone numbers to make it look legit. Honestly, OFCOM should step in - they let these scammers buy up unused UK numbers no questions asked (I’d say way worse but I’m keeping it clean). Feel free to add whatever you want! Best thing is just to block them - that’s about your only option.

Been getting calls all day from someone claiming to be BT saying they'll cut my internet if I don't do something. This is the third call from them just today and loads more earlier in the week. It's really getting on my nerves. I've decided to just not pick up for unknown numbers now. Honestly, they should really do something about these scammers.

Received a dodgy call claiming to be from BT regarding internet disconnection. Seemed like it was placed from a roundabout near Trafalgar Square, as usual. Definitely a scam!
