Received a call from someone purporting to be with Bike Magazine, and they certainly started off with a bit of chit-chat. However, things took a turn when they began inquiring about the types of motorbikes I own. Decided to hang up on them at that point! If you see this number pop up, I'd advise not answering - it's clearly a scam!

Bauer Media seems legit. I’ve had a subscription before and they actually gave me all my subs info, so they definitely got my details stored somewhere. They tried to sign me up for a bunch of mags at a quid each for the first three months. I said yes to just one and I’m planning to cancel after I get the first two issues, just to avoid being charged the full £18 for the six month deal that follows. The people were quite nice and didn’t push much, which I appreciated.

Yup, this is definitely Bauer Media. They managed to grab my phone number and info after I used the Motorcycle News Insurance Comparison page. They’re pushing magazine subs and try to get you to sign up for a Direct Debit to get cheaper mags. Just make sure to cancel before the trial finishes or they'll charge you for a yearly sub you really don’t need. At least they’re quite polite when taking your cash, unlike those pesky scam callers.

I keep getting calls about some subscription for Practical Classics mag I had before. I’ve gone ahead and blocked the number on my iPhone now.

I'm not quite sure whether it was a dodgy connection or what, but since this whole "can you hear me?" nonsense has crept into the UK, I've received a call from this number. They claimed there was a poor line and then straightaway asked, "Can you hear me?" I couldn't be bothered with it, so I just ended the call. It smacked of either a marketing ploy or just another shoddy scam.

This number rings me a couple times a day. I don’t pick up cause I looked it up here (big thanks for all the helpful comments!) and the caller never leaves a message. My android won’t let me block it, so I saved the number in my contacts as “SPAM DO NOT PICK UP” to remind myself. I do have a motorbike mag subscription, so I reckon my info’s been shared with some marketing firm. I’m going to cancel my subscription and tell them I’m not happy my info was passed around!

The second time, some woman with an American accent sighed heavily and said she'd had a terrible day. If you keep phoning me like that, love, I doubt things will get any better for you :)

02075365147 this bloke called me, offering a newspaper trial for a quid a month, so i said alright, but i cancelled before the month ended. then they sent me a free cookbook as well, i rang up and told them i didnt want any cookbooks or papers. they said it was sorted. that was November 3rd. come January, they took £38.98 from my account. the bank said it wasnt their fault for letting it go through, so no money back for me. then they sent me another pointless cookbook. feels like a proper con! these Shoe LANE Press folks are just thieves. watch out!
