Today, I received a rather dubious phone call from someone posing as an HMRC official. This chap had the audacity to intimidate me with threats of legal action over alleged tax fraud! He then inquired whether I preferred to settle the supposed debt in one lump sum or by instalments. At that point, it clicked - this was clearly a scam! I mean, HMRC doesn’t operate in this manner at all!
