Just had a rather dodgy phone call regarding some supposed computer upkeep. It felt like a big set-up, what with all the background chatter, although it could have just been theatrics. This nonsense really ought to be put to an end immediately!

I received a call from this number about 20 minutes ago. The individual on the line alleged they were representing Microsoft and referred to some reports supposedly sent by my computer. I informed them it was absolute nonsense since I don't even use Windows. I insisted they cease calling me and remove my number from their database. They promptly ended the call.

I've received a pair of calls from this number today, and let me tell you, the folks on the other end were trying their utmost to persuade me that my Windows operating system was in dire straits and required urgent repairs. Quite amusing, really, considering I own a Mac, not a Windows machine! I'm at a loss as to what they hoped to achieve, as both of these clods seemed to falter rather quickly once they realised they were onto a lost cause. Just a heads up for others out there - stay vigilant. I’m determined to find a way to lodge a complaint about these chancers and get their lines shut down for good!

I wouldn't even bother attempting to lodge a complaint with the TPS; they're utterly ineffective and always find some flimsy reason to avoid any proper investigations. I've heard that Callgard might be a more reliable option, though.

Typically, I avoid picking up calls from numbers I don’t recognise, but just now I took a chance as I’m expecting to hear back from some builders. Almost immediately, I felt miffed and suspicious, since no one responded to my "Hello?! Is anyone there?!" Just a background chorus of indistinct chatter that sounded distinctly Indian. When an Indian gentleman eventually chimed in, I cut the line. I’ve heard my mate recently got a fancy BT phone that can filter out even those pesky, dubious calls from India.

This afternoon I received a rather peculiar phone call from this number. The caller claimed there were issues with my computer. I responded casually, but then the woman, who had an Asian accent, urged me to fire up my device so they could begin sorting the supposed problems. I firmly declined, mentioning that my son is a computer whiz who assembles them himself. I ultimately told her to clear off in rather colourful language!

I received a rather dubious call from this number earlier today. The person on the line claimed to be representing Microsoft, insisting that my computer was afflicted with a virus. I promptly pointed out that the only pest in the conversation was him, mentioned I had his number, and informed him I was recording our chat to report to the authorities. He responded with some quite colourful language before slamming down the phone.

I received a rather peculiar call from the number 02072895450 today, Saturday, 29th August 2015. For privacy's sake, I shall refrain from sharing my full name, just in case the caller happens to catch wind of this post. The call began with a rather drawn-out silence, and after I had said "hello" a few times, the person on the other end spoke up in a rather unclear voice, echoing the experiences others have shared here. When I pressed him on how he was aware of supposed viruses on my computer, he replied, rather cryptically, by verifying if our landline number was indeed correct. I didn't entertain that query but pushed him on how he procured my number and what possible connection my computer had to it. His response? I was accused of lying! I challenged him on that claim, and in response, I distinctly heard him muttering some expletives-a faint sound but unmistakably a bit of foul language. It's worth noting that he claimed to be from the UK, yet his accent led me to suspect he was from India. A fellow poster, BB, was spot on; as soon as they realise you’re onto them and push back, they tend to resort to swearing and abruptly hang up. I’m particularly wary of this situation, especially since a mate was duped a few months back when a caller walked him through a process that led to him unintentionally divulging personal and financial information. He ended up shelling out several hundred quid (£500, if memory serves correct) because the caller convinced him they could rectify his issues. It was only after the fact, or perhaps through chatting with someone else, that he recognised he’d been conned. PC World subsequently advised him to replace his hard drive, which set him back another £200. He even felt that some sort of spell had been cast over him, as he seemed to succumb to the caller’s manipulations, despite being a seasoned professional from the finance sector. So, take heed and try not to engage too deeply with such callers-remain alert to avoid getting trapped in their dubious games. Should we consider lodging a report with the authorities? Do you reckon that just by knowing my home phone number, they could actually hook into our computer system, particularly since we do online banking? Just a heads-up-this caller is definitely a SCAM!!!

Last week, I received a rather odd call from this number, where the caller insisted they had received some logs from my computer. Curious, I inquired about his background, and he cheerfully declared himself to be American. However, I couldn't help but notice his rather strong Asian accent. He was quite pushy, so I firmly directed him to take a hike. This morning, I found myself on the receiving end of another call from the same number, but this time, there was complete silence on the other end.

Had a rather amusing encounter at precisely 1:40 PM today. A chap rang up claiming to be from Windows, insisting that he'd identified a slew of 'bugs' on my computer and he was keen to show me their whereabouts. I played along for about three minutes before revealing that he was speaking with the police, and that his call had been traced. He promptly asserted, "I never claimed to work for Windows." To which I confidently replied that he indeed had and that I was recording the conversation. He backtracked, saying, "I said I’m from the Windows fault department, I’m with Globaltech." I reminded him that he had introduced himself as a Windows employee, requesting his name, claiming the call was already being monitored. He retaliated with some choice expletives and promptly ended the call. I doubt I’ll be hearing from that lot again anytime soon. Beware of these scam calls-they’re just trying to gain access to your device to cause chaos and subsequently charge you a fortune!

I've had a couple of calls lately from the number 020 7289 5450, with the same old spiel about how they’re from some Windows service, claiming there are errors on my computer that they’ve supposedly detected. It’s pretty clear these are just nonsense callers, likely out to waste time or worse, con people. I've registered with the preference centre to avoid these irritating calls as well, but it seems that doesn’t stop them. - Caller: 02072895450

I've been bombarded with calls lately from 020 7289 5450, claiming that their systems have detected an issue with my Windows PC and urging me to hop on my computer to carry out their directives. I genuinely believe their intention is to trick individuals into downloading malware that could cripple their devices, only for them to subsequently demand a fortune to resolve it. The first time they reached out, I cheekily asked why they presumed I had an issue with my Windows machine-considering I exclusively use a Mac. They didn't hesitate to hang up! Since then, I've had a barrage of calls, and as soon as they sense I’m onto their ruse, they promptly end the conversation. Bottom line: it's a scam! Don't fall victim to their fabricated tales of computer troubles; steer clear of their instructions, and certainly don’t divulge any personal details. Just ignore them! - phone number: 020 72895450

I just received a dodgy call from 0207 289 5450, claiming to be from Covent Garden in London. They were telling me I had issues with my computer, either Windows or Mac. Honestly, they had no clue whether I even owned a PC, much less what type it was! When I pressed him about the alleged "error," all I got was a vague "an error, sir." I mean, come on! You can't even pick a side-Windows or Mac? Your script is a complete shambles, mate! Perhaps do some homework before ringing people up with these nonsense claims; it’s absolutely rubbish and utterly unconvincing!

On the 11th of June, 2015, I received a call from this number, which I traced through 1471. When I picked up, there was an awkward silence on the other end-a clear indication that it was probably a call centre rather than someone reaching out personally, so I decided to end the call. It's frustrating, as I believed I was signed up with the preference service to avoid these annoying interruptions!

I got a rather dodgy phone call from a supposed representative of Windows, who insisted that they needed to guide me through resolving some pesky errors on my computer. The amusing bit? I don’t even own a computer! When I pointed this out, the chap turned quite nasty, calling me names and hurling insults-definitely a red flag and a clear attempt to swindle money out of unsuspecting folks. Be cautious with these scammy callers! The bloke claimed he was ‘working on behalf of Windows’-definitely a fraudulent operation!
