I ignored the call since the number was unfamiliar, but I decided to check it out and found out it was just another scam. Really don’t get how these scammers keep getting away with this stuff.

Got a call from some robot voice saying I had a warrant for my arrest because I supposedly owed taxes. Totally caught me off guard!

Got a call where no one said a word, just silence on the other end. Bit weird, honestly.

No clue who that was, they just stayed silent the whole time. In the end, I just blocked the number.

Can someone tell me who's ringing me?

Sounds like a call centre somewhere in India, with some guy apparently called Peter ringing about "Benefits UK". They try to make you think they're connected to big government bodies like the DWP or similar, but they absolutely aren't. I've always been quick to say no when they ask if they're a government agency, never letting them slip through. It's probably just a roundabout way to get you signed up for loads of sales calls under the guise of doing a survey. Best to block the number straight away, along with any other ones they might try to use, and don’t even bother picking up.

"Benefits UK" has rung me a few times now, maybe three or four. They seriously don’t accept a simple no, kept pushing even though I said I wasn't interested. It’s pretty clear it's one of those auto-dialler call centres out of India, using an Indian number to cover it up. Watch out for these lot!

I just got a call from them, and honestly, it felt super shady. They didn’t even explain properly, just rushed through everything. Definitely was not what I expected!

This number keeps ringing me up, with these folks speaking in a weird accent, mixing up English that sounds Asian or sometimes singling out what sounds like an Irish name. They say they’re from ‘benefits UK’ or something like that. I hang up every time, but they just keep calling and asking for me, then drop the call suddenly. Anyone else getting this? Feels like some sort of scam aimed at older people, like they think folks over 60 might be easy targets. What’s the deal with these calls?

some guy with an asian accent, called himself harry, ringed me up outta the blue. he asked straight for me by name, which i never tell to strangers. he claimed he was from benefits office or something, said he had questions to ask. sounded fishy to me, prob just a scam to get info. i never share my details with random callers, especially ones with thick accents! told him to shove it and blocked the number right away!
