I had a really horrible experience with some bloke who sounded Indian and was proper rude. After I gave him the phone number for 10 Downing Street switchboard (which you can find online easily), and told him it was the Manager/Owner ("Mrs May"), he rang me back and just started shouting all sorts at me. Now, every time one of those calls comes in from "UK Energy Department" or "Customer Care" or "Customer Complaints," I just give them the same number. It’s the only way to deal with these annoying calls.

On Saturday around 11.15 in the morning, I got a call at my shop from a guy with an Asian accent, sounded like he was in some call centre. He started all polite like, “Good morning, ma’am. How are you today?” I asked straight away why he was calling, since I hadn’t asked for a call and it was clear he wasn’t just a normal person ringing. He said it wasn’t really a call centre, it was the complaints department. I wanted to know what sort of complaint, he said it was about my energy supplier and some problem with overcharging. I told him I had no such problem and just hung up.

Some guy rang me with an Indian accent and started saying rude things. I just stayed quiet, and he kept going, saying stuff like, "I know you're there, b##ch." I didn’t say anything back, and after a bit, he just hung up.

They kept ringing our private phone supposedly from “now” and connected it to our shop. Seriously, who even let them do that?
