somebody rang pretending to be from bt, saying that someone was trying to access our line. they asked us to get on the computer so they could track the source. it felt dodgy. we're pretty cautious with calls like this and never share any details or even say yes or no, and we avoid fixing any wrong info they might say.

Claimed to be representing BT. The line went dead as soon as I inquired if it was just another spam call.

I got a call from someone saying they were from BT and that there was an issue with my router. Thing is, my internet and router aren't actually through BT. When I asked how I could be sure it wasn't a scam, the person just hung up on me. So yeah, looks like it was definitely a dodgy call to me!

I didn’t pick up, but looked the number up through 1471 and it came back as non-existent.

I picked up the phone and the person just said "bye" before quickly hanging up.

some guy called claiming he was from virgin media and said there was an issue with my broadband. i told him i’m not even with virgin media but he said they handle all the broadband stuff around here. when i asked him more questions, he actually knew where i lived. he said my router was sending out errors. i told him i'd just ring bt to sort it out and he just hung up on me.

I received a call purporting to be from the BT Technical Department, inquiring whether I was experiencing any issues with my internet connection. While it might have been authentic, the caller’s accent was incredibly thick, making it quite difficult to fully understand her words. Given that I hadn't lodged any complaints about my service, I decided to hang up.
