Got a voicemail claiming there’s a lawsuit from HMRC against me. Total scam, don’t bother calling back or picking up if they ring. Better to report it to the police or Ofcom here in the UK. For more info on scams, have a look at the HMRC website.

I've been getting calls nonstop about some warrant for my arrest or something like that. I block the numbers every time, but then they just call back from new ones. I can’t imagine how scared some folks must get hearing this stuff. It’s got to be illegal or at least stopped somehow. Does anyone know where I can complain about these calls?

On 23/07/18, my mum got a call from someone pretending to be from HMRC saying there was a warrant for her arrest. She was really upset and angry, so she ended up giving them some details. They then told her they’d go ahead with the warrant. I’ve already sent an email to [email protected] and plan to report it to Action Fraud too, since it’s wrong to scare elderly folks like this.

Honestly, I can’t understand why no one’s cracking down on this rubbish. Loads of folks can spot it’s a scam, but there’s always that one unlucky person who ends up getting tricked. These individuals are nothing but crooks, con artists and bullies. They deserve to be locked up.

So, apparently there's some warrant for my arrest or something like that, and I’m supposedly heading straight to jail. They even used this posh accent! Totally bizarre since my taxes are perfectly fine. All those warnings to "not ignore" the calls - absolute nonsense. Honestly, the police really ought to find these muppets and throw them behind bars. Best thing is to just ignore it and don’t bother calling back.

I’ve had three calls now warning me about an arrest from HMRC. The first two calls came from 0184 numbers. I managed to report the first one on here but couldn’t find any info on the second. Looks like this latest 0207 number is the one that’s calling the most, judging by all the comments I’ve seen.

If they keep arresting people like this, I reckon the jails will be stuffed! It’s daft that HMRC would send a warrant out for me when they already have my address. Surely it’d make more sense for them to just show up rather than send some dodgy automated call. Total scam, in my opinion.
