Somebody rang, claiming to be from the Ministry of Justice. I couldn’t help myself and joked that they sounded more like the Ministry of Sound or the Ministry of Silly Walks. They just cut me off straight away - proper rude if you ask me!

So this bloke rings me up calling himself Jeffrey, saying my bank had charged me too much and I was owed some cash. I told him to bugger off and ended the call. I might be 90 years old but my wits are still sharp as ever!

I got a call from 02071936402, a person with an Asian accent claiming to be from the "Ministry of Justice." They told me I could claim £3000 for being charged too much by my bank. I told them straight away I knew it was a con. Then, the same number rang me again later on asking what I thought about the earlier call. I told them again it was a scam and that I’d already checked the number online. After that, the caller warned me, saying “you’ll regret this.”

I received a phone call earlier today from a chap with a distinct Asian accent, who introduced himself as Gary Smith, purportedly from the Ministry of Justice. He mentioned something about me being owed £3000, allegedly because of excessive bank charges I've paid between 2004 and 2009! What a curious situation!

Got a call from someone speaking with a South Asian accent - I think they said they were from the "government finance department," saying we'd been charged too much in bank fees. Sounded fishy from the start, as I don’t believe such a department exists. To me, it’s just a scam by some dodgy group aiming to steal bank info and clean out accounts. Definitely a phishing attempt.

I received a call from someone claiming to be from the Ministry of Justice, who mentioned that the banks had shared my information with them, stating that I was eligible for a refund. There was quite a bit of commotion in the background, sounding very much like a call centre. Honestly, it's best to just hang up on these fraudsters!

I've received countless calls from this lot! They’ve got that distinct call centre vibe about them. It makes you wonder why it’s so difficult to pin them down, doesn’t it?

I got a call from someone claiming to be from the ‘Ministry of Justice’ wanting to speak to my missus. I asked what it was about, but all they said was they needed to speak to her again. I told them the Ministry of Justice doesn’t ring people up, warned that the call was being recorded, and said I’d report it to the cops. They hung up straight away.

Got a call not long ago from some woman claiming to be from the Ministry of Justice. They were pushing that typical story about owing about £3000. She tried to sound proper by naming her department and even said the floor they worked on in Westminster. Totally fishy if you ask me. Honestly, it’s sad because I reckon plenty of folks who are more vulnerable will end up getting caught out by this sort of scam.

It’s a bit worrying to think these scammers must be making some cash or they wouldn’t bother with all these calls, right? From what people have said here, it looks like it’s not too hard to spot the scam, but honestly, they’re sneakier than we give them credit for. So yeah, just watch out everyone, don’t let them catch you out.

Got a call from a woman saying she was from the Ministry of Justice, saying I was owed a £3000 refund. I told her to just send it through the post since she somehow had my address. She also asked for £150 for some kind of tax. Honestly, if she was standing right in front of me, the only thing she’d get is a punch in the face. Can’t stand these scammers.

This number keeps ringing me up, saying it’s from some government claims team. They say I’m owed a £3000 refund for bank fees that were supposedly charged by mistake. Honestly, what a load of rubbish - I’ve never been charged any fees by my bank!

I just received a call that was astonishingly similar! The caller insisted that a government solicitor would appear at my doorstep by 2pm tomorrow, bearing a cheque for £3000, since I had supposedly been wrongly charged interest. I requested they send a letter to my address to confirm the legitimacy of this call, but they dodged the request by claiming only a government solicitor can deliver such correspondence in person. They then urged me to pop down to my local shop to buy a £150 paysafe card, which, they said, the solicitor would stamp before handing over the cheque for me to take straight to the bank. To top it off, they tried to intimidate me with threats of a £75 cancellation fee that would be deducted from my account automatically if I decided against accepting the cheque. Honestly, it's absolute nonsense! STEER CLEAR OF THIS SCAM!

Got a call from a guy with an accent and loads of noise in the background, claiming he was from the Ministry of Justice. I didn't bother listening much, just told him to send me something in writing and then ended the call. Pretty sure it was a scam because I’ve never heard the Ministry of Justice ring up like that.

Got a call from someone claiming to be Julie Shaw, a solicitor, saying I'd get a one-time £3000 payment from the Ministry of Justice. She said she'd be at my place in about 2 hours with some documents. When I asked her twice for the reference number, she just hung up on me. The number she called from was 02071936402 - same as the one she claimed as the reference. The voice sounded East Asian and I could hear what sounded like a noisy call centre in the background!

My elderly uncle got a few phone calls claiming his bank supposedly owed him £3000 from way back between 2005 and 2009. They said a lawyer would visit with a cheque and some papers to sign, but first he had to hand over a £150 cheque for "tax" fees. He told them he would only pay once the £3000 cheque had cleared with his bank. After that, they didn't bother him anymore. The bank itself confirmed there's no money due and no one is representing them in this matter. Definitely a scam.

I received a rather alarming call recently, claiming that I owed £3000 in back taxes from quite some time ago. The caller introduced themselves as being from the Ministry of Justice. They mentioned a solicitor named Julie Shaw was involved in this matter. Strangely enough, they insisted that I only needed to pay £150 upon receiving the funds, but here's the twist - they wanted me to purchase an iTunes card! Quite suspicious, if you ask me!

Had a chap claiming to be from the 'Ministry of Justice' contact me, stating there's some payment due to us. He instructed me to purchase an Amazon gift card worth £125, after which I was supposed to get back in touch with him. Allegedly, a solicitor would then deliver a cheque for a significant amount owed right to my doorstep. Sounds a bit fishy to me!

This is a dodgy scam masquerading as a PPI claims service. They’re requesting £150 in the form of a paysafecard voucher.
