Last summer I got caught up in a police inquiry linked to this number. The officers advised me to check this site out. What made it worse is I was expecting a call from Barclaycard because my PPI firm had warned me about it following an ombudsman review. Coincidentally, the fraudsters picked Barclaycard to impersonate, so the scam call came just a few days after. Proper unlucky!

Is there anyone out there who can shed some light on whose number this might be?

Indeed, I've received a couple of calls alleging that I’m entitled to a PPI refund from VW Finance-one for £3,000 and the other for £2,439-both originating from the number 02071933179. Since I did have finance through VW, I thought it might be worth my while to ring them up and request the cheques. However, to my dismay, I couldn't get through on either of the numbers! Quite the mystery, I must say!

Got a call from someone named Aled who said Lloyd’s tsbc was about to give my Nan £3,000 but she was supposed to pay them £300 first, like 10%. They mentioned some bloke called Mark White was going to rock up in a van later that day. Nan found the whole thing so daft she was in tears laughing and kept egging them on. Still no sign of this Mark, and in the end, he just hung up on her!

I've had numerous messages from a chap named James, with a rather thick accent, citing that he's from "Black Horse Finance." He keeps going on about some cheque amounting to around £2,000 or even £3,000 relating to a PPI claim. It's downright shocking! These sorts of individuals ought to feel utterly embarrassed. Why don’t they just find a proper job like the rest of us hard-working citizens? My heart goes out to vulnerable folks, particularly the elderly, who might fall for such tricks!

Got a call earlier from this number, and the person said they were calling from Lloyds Bank about my PPI claim. Thing is, I had no idea I ever put in a claim in the first place! Bit strange if you ask me.

This number called me and left a voicemail claiming to be Jessica from HSBC. They said my PPI claim for £3000 was approved and asked me to ring back. Absolutely not, no way I’m falling for that.

He told me his name, can’t really remember it, sounded like a pretty common British name but he did have a bit of an accent, maybe from abroad. Claimed to be ringing from Barclays Bank. I just didn't see any reason for them to call me, so I said "I’m not buying that" and ended the call.

Got a call from someone claiming to be John about PPI today. I cut him off quick and blocked the number straight away. After that, he kept trying to ring me but my phone didn’t even buzz. He did say his name ‘John’ on the first call, thinking it might trick me, but luckily I’ve got Sky Talk Shield set up so nothing got through.

I received a rather suspicious call from this number, asserting that I had a PPI refund of £3000 awaiting me. They provided an ID reference and all the usual spiel. They went on to say that someone would drop by with a cheque, but I’d need to hand over approximately £300 in iTunes gift cards in return. Quite dodgy, if you ask me!

I received a call claiming I was due £3000 from a PPI refund, and they mentioned it could be sent today as a cheque. They assured me it was a no-fee settlement, yet they asked for £250 upfront. Talk about dodgy! Definitely a SCAM!

I received a call today from someone who left a voicemail mentioning a £3,000 sum in people’s postal ledger? I decided to ring them back and now I’m in limbo waiting for a call from a lady named Jessica. Oddly enough, she appears to be out of the office! Instead, they say a ‘Mark White’ will soon be knocking on my door with a cheque and cash. I can’t help but wonder how he’s managing to carry around that much money just while wandering about town. If this were on the up and up, surely they’d just pop a cheque in the post, right? Mark's likely in for a surprise, as I definitely won’t have the £250 he’s expecting from me!

The police know about this scam so it’s best to report these scammers to the fraud team first thing Tuesday morning once the bank holiday is over. They tried messing with me this morning too. I called them back and told them the bobbies are onto their game. Watch out, they really give it a go.

Hey, just got a call like the one mentioned here. Someone claiming to be from Tesco PI refund said I was owed £3000, but then they asked me to buy a £275 iTunes voucher to cover some sort of ‘claims company’ charge. I nearly fell for it since I did recently send Tesco a letter about PPI, so be careful out there!

I've just been contacted regarding a supposed Bank of Scotland loan for a whopping £3000 that I’ve never taken out. They’re instructing me to head to the local supermarket and purchase an iTunes card worth £250. Sounds incredibly dodgy, doesn’t it?

I received a voicemail from this number claiming to be "Jessica from HSBC", stating that my PPI claim for £3,000 has been approved and asking me to return her call. (I definitely did not!). The thing is, I don’t have an account with HSBC, nor was I anticipating any updates regarding PPI claims, so it’s fairly obvious this is a scam.

I recently received a rather dubious phone call from a woman identifying herself as Jennifer. She claimed to be a claims officer with Lloyds TSB and informed me that I was entitled to £3,000 due to some interest accrued on a PPI claim. She went on about various reference numbers and a customer ID, urging me to ring back and use extension 111. Apparently, there's a commission fee of £250 that we need to cough up. To top it off, a delivery bloke named James Cooper is supposedly on his way with £900 in cash, while the remaining amount would be settled through a certified cheque. Sounds like a classic scam to me! Oh, and to add insult to injury, she’s supposed to ring back later this evening at five o’clock to chat with my husband-I'll be sure to put a stop to that!

I got a call where a woman said I needed to buy an iTunes card and load £250 onto it. She said she’d call me back in an hour after I did that. When I called back, she said her name was Jess and mentioned someone called James Cooper would get in touch. When she phoned again, my daughter picked up but said it wasn’t them and then started swearing. I ended the call there. She rang me once more and told me to basically get lost.
