Back in December 2024, I was tricked by a call claiming to be from GeekOnline but it came through Norton. They got into my computer and had full access. It was a nightmare!

So, this number called me offering to help me download Norton, but it quickly turned into them trying to get me to sign up for some kind of tech support subscription from wwwGeekllc.ca. Definitely felt like a sketchy sales pitch.

I was having trouble setting up Norton 360 and decided to use their online chat for help. Shortly after, someone named Sam rang me from this number. I stupidly let him take control of my PC and ended up paying more than £200. I contacted my bank to cancel the transaction but they told me it wasn’t possible. After reinstalling Norton, it’s showing no sign of spyware. I’m really baffled how he got into Norton’s system and now I’m anxious about what might happen next. It’s been really hard to get Norton to acknowledge what I went through.

Got a call from someone pretending to be Norton, telling me my subscription had run out (which it hadn't). They claimed my Norton protection was blocked and said they'd fix it if I let them into my computer. Total con job. Watch out for these scams!

Just a heads up, this morning while running a Norton virus scan on my PC, a huge red warning popped up filled with some weird code and letters. Shortly after, I got a call from someone claiming the alert was from my computer and asking me to click a link below the message so they could sort it remotely. I asked for their contact number since I was with a client, and they gave it to me. When I looked up the number, it turned out to be linked to a scam. I even phoned Norton myself and they confirmed the number wasn’t theirs at all. Stay alert folks!

I had a bloke named Sam ring me, claiming he was some kind of Cisco expert. Ended up getting duped out of about £600 - feel like a right mug now. Lucky for me, the folks at Currys were awesome and helped me fix everything. I did report it to Barclays Fraud Squad, but haven’t really heard anything back since.

On Christmas Eve, some con artist called pretending to be from Cisco, saying it was about Norton. My dad was actually setting up Norton then, so they got remote access to his computer. Luckily, the laptop was fresh out the box with no private info for them to grab. Absolute lowlife move to pull this on a holiday like that. Proper scumbags.

I found a number online for cisco support and got a call from a guy named Sam, claiming to be a cisco technician. Unfortunately, it was a scam and I ended up losing £600. The phone number he used was 02476982796. This happened back in November 2021.

Got a call from someone claiming to be tech support from Norton, said they’d fix some issues on our computer. Since I was already on the Norton website, I thought it was genuine. They accessed my wife’s PC and ended up charging us £80. Turns out it was a total rip-off!

Today I got a call from this number claiming to be with HP printers. They actually had my name and email, so I thought it was genuine because I was just setting up my printer. But when they asked to take over my computer, I immediately got suspicious...

Got a call from someone claiming to be an HP computer tech who could fix an issue I supposedly had. Then he went on talking about charges and said he was based in Greenwich, London. Total scam, watch out!

I tried downloading some printer software and put in all the details, but then a message popped up saying it wouldn’t work. Soon after, I got a call from 020 7193 1192, someone who said his name was “Sam” and that he was from HP, offering to help me set up my printer. He asked for permission to access my computer so he could do it remotely. I politely declined, but he kept insisting, saying it would only take five minutes. When I refused again, he seemed a bit annoyed but told me to ring back if I still had trouble. Quite suspicious if you ask me!

My sister said they said they were from Mcafee support, then they got onto her computer and put loads of software on it.
