So, I got a call from "Sergeant Jacob Brown" claiming he was from Nat West’s fraud team, following a "heads-up" from another caller about some dodgy transaction on my Visa card - which I don’t even own. After about 20 minutes of chatting, he realised I was having a laugh and trying to trick him instead. It was pretty funny holding him up like that, and I guess it stopped him from targeting another poor soul for a bit.

So I got passed on to this number by someone claiming to be from the ICICI bank's anti-fraud team. The guy on the line called himself Kevin Johnston. I ended up messing around with them for like 45 minutes before finally losing patience and calling out the whole thing as a scam. I don’t even have an ICICI account, I don’t live where they said I did, and the name they used definitely isn’t mine. I just like to string these scammers along for a bit!

I’ve gotten calls from this number a couple of times in the past two weeks. Spent a good chunk of time messing around with the scammers before finally admitting I wasn’t real. The bloke on the other end, probably from India, sounded pretty down about how much time he'd just lost. Honestly, the more of these calls, the better - nothing like flipping the tables and wasting their time instead!

This guy called my elderly mate, who’s 84, and really stressed her out - she even ended up feeling unwell from it. He said he was Giles from Barclays fraud team but it was total rubbish. Luckily our nearby Barclays branch shut down, because he even tried to convince her he’d cover a taxi fare for her to take out some cash and put it into a “secure” account he gave her! I’m so glad I’m around to help my friend, because she’s really vulnerable, and so many others like her might fall for this and lose all their savings. It’s just horrible what these scammers do!

I got a call from a bloke calling himself Officer Jacob Brown, who was clearly an Indian scammer trying to pull off some Authorised Push Payment fraud. Before that, I’d spoke to another guy pretending to be from Visa, acting as a kind of middle-man. Since I had already mentioned a Barclays sort code to the middle-man, Jacob tried to convince me he was with Barclays’ Anti-Fraud Department at their HQ. Total scam all the way through.
