I got a call from someone saying they were from HMRC and warning me about potential legal trouble. They mentioned something about my tax code being flagged. The call ended weirdly too - I heard a woman’s voice in the background for a moment, then it just got cut off suddenly. Seemed a bit off to me.

Got a call from Max Trading, but they just cut off immediately, so I blocked the number right away.

Total scam. Just got home from a week away and found three voicemail messages from this number. Same kind of threatening stuff others have mentioned here. As a pensioner, it was really scary hearing such a menacing voice on the other end.

Got three calls just today all saying the same thing others mentioned. I didn’t answer since it clearly seemed dodgy.

Got a recorded call threatening me with arrest from HMRC. Total scam, calling that number is a big mistake.

I had an intriguing phone call this morning. A lady on the line claimed she was from Tax and Revenue, stating that I was being investigated and that legal actions were imminent. She urged me to press 1 if I wanted to hear more details.

Got a call that said it was from HMRC but be warned, the genuine HMRC would never call like that. Don’t press 1 or anything, it just links you to a premium number and you end up paying a lot! Complete scam!

Received a call from 02071838749 at around 4.17pm. There was some noise in the background but no one actually spoke, then the caller just dropped the line. You'd have thought the so-called 'experts' who've been running the Homeline since day one would've sorted this out by now and stopped it properly, but no, this dodgy scam just carries on like nothing.

Got a call from someone pretending to be HMRC, saying they're suing me and told me to press “1” to talk to a “case officer.” I just ended the call straight away!

Got a robo call claiming it was from "HMRC" saying they were taking "legal steps" against me and told me to press 1 to talk to the case officer. I just ended the call straight away. Then I rang the number back with 141 before it, and all I got was another recorded voice saying they were busy and not available. Totally a scam. Hopefully this and the other comments help folks feel safe and know it’s nothing to worry about. Best thing is just to hang up and block the number if you can.

This number’s defo a spoof one used to ring loads of people with scam calls. The moment they trick even one person, they’ll drain all their money - big payday for them, obviously. Classic HMRC recorded message scam. Best not to pick up!

Got a call from someone claiming to be HMRC, saying I’m wanted for income tax fraud and they’re going to arrest me! That’s a laugh, since I don’t even earn enough to pay tax and usually get refunds from them. They told me to press 4 to resolve the issue, obviously a scam.

Got a call from Shastri over at the curry place down the road, telling me my chicken korma’s ready to pick up. As if I’d fall for that sort of thing! Does he really take me for a complete mug?

Another one of those unknown number calls again. Got a message saying it was from HMRC threatening court action. I just let it go to voicemail and didn’t pick up. Honestly, never trust numbers you don’t recognise. If you do answer, don’t share any personal info, it could be risky.

Got a robotic call saying it was HMRC alerting me about some fraud case, threatening arrest if I didn’t press number 1. Honestly, don’t share any personal info with them, and for heaven’s sake, never your card details! It’s all a scam.

Got 3 calls from this number today, all from some woman’s voice, sounded like a dodgy recording about a lawsuit or something, telling me to ring another number. Didn’t even bother to hear the whole thing, it was so rubbish. Wish there was an option to say ‘complete nonsense’ on here. I’m aware these scam attempts can be serious, but this one felt really amateurish to me.

Got a call from someone claiming to be hmrc, but it was totally fishy. When i didn't give my name, they started saying they'd send an officer with a warrant to arrest me! Honestly, that sounds so fake, i can’t believe hmrc would behave like that! Don’t hand over any personal info or your bank details to these people! Ive blocked the number straight away!

For anyone looking up this number, just a heads up from what I’ve found. HMRC won’t ring you or leave a message on your voicemail, so don’t fall for those automated calls pretending to be them. If you’re unsure, it’s best to give HMRC a call directly yourself.

I got in touch with HMRC to alert them about the dodgy call. They told me it’s definitely a scam because they don’t ring people up - they always send letters instead. I gave them my info along with the phone number that reached me, and they said they’ll look into it.

I got a voicemail supposedly from HMRC threatening me with court action! It's really worrying how easily folks who are more vunerable might fall for these sorts of scams. There should definitely be more done to stop these awful calls.
