My caller ID showed the number as 4444 207 183 0681. Checking the country code, 4444 belongs to Bayanlig, Mongolia! The voicemail was a very American-sounding automated message claiming it was about urgent legal action by HMRC involving some criminal issue. They wanted me to ring back on 0207 183 0681. Needless to say, I didn’t bother calling them back.

Got a voicemail from this number, but I had a hunch it was a total scam so I didn’t answer. Ended up blocking it straight away.

Got a scary message from some supposed HMRC telling me to ring them back or else there’ll be consequences. It was all automated, no mention of my name or anything, just “this call concerns you”.
