My phone was in a spot with really bad reception and it just seemed like it was switched off, sending the call straight to voicemail. Unluckily, this meant no number got logged. Yesterday, I got four messages, all from an automated voice telling me to ring 02071830125. Since my tax matters are all sorted, I was immediately doubtful and a bit annoyed. I haven’t called back and thought I'd check here to see if anyone else got the same. Turns out, yes, quite a few have! I’m definitely reporting this to HMRC now. Everyone, please stay cautious. Life’s stressful enough without these scams.

I got a call from 020 7183 0125 claiming to be from HMRC. They said I had some criminal charges against me and that I needed to ring them back straight away on that number. The voice on the recording sounded like an African American accent, which seemed dodgy to me.

Just the other day, I received a call from an Afghan number, +93 15300962, followed by one from Egypt, +20 71 830 125, and then again from a local number, 0207 7183 0125. All of these were supposedly from a chap named Steven White, claiming to represent HMRC regarding some supposed criminal allegations leveled against me. Honestly, if I hadn't been alerted by the previous calls from Afghanistan and Egypt, I might have entertained the notion that this was genuine. However, it's clearly a load of nonsense!

Got a call from this number earlier, it was some automated voice claiming to be from HMRC. Said I owed them cash and if I didn't ring back, they'd send someone round and I'd end up owing a bigger amount. Sounded really intimidating. I just blocked the contact straight away and thought I'd report it on here.

Got three calls from this number today, all the same prerecorded message claiming suspicious activity on my HMRC account and telling me to ring them back on 0207 183 0125. I just ended the call and blocked it straight away. Also let HMRC's phishing team know about it. Such scammers are the worst, really hope they get caught soon.

I rang the number, and some guy with an Indian accent answered, sounded like he was driving a scooter or something. If you decide to ring them back, just tell them you reported them to the UK's National Crime Agency. They get proper freaked out and just hang up straight away. Honestly, I’m still chuckling - what a cheek for someone to pick up while riding a moped!

Just got a call a few mins back from someone with a strong accent. They claimed there was some dodgy stuff on my self-employed tax return from Jan (they didn't rush, took their sweet time explaining). Said someone will get in touch soon for an audit unless I fork out a little fine (£150) now and they’ll close it. Sounded a bit fishy to me.
