This number ringed me and when I began asking some questions the caller suddenly changed his tone and started saying there was some warrant for my arrest and that I'd be held in custody for two to three days before the court hearing. That’s when I realised it’s a total con. Really hope folks don’t get caught out by this one.

Something really spooky happened to me too, it freaked me out completely. I rang them back and gave my name, and somehow this person already had my full address. Got a call from some woman with a robotic voice saying it was HMRC, telling me I’m being watched and investigated. The number was 02071754882. I tried calling back and some bloke answered, sounded totally uninterested and claimed he was from HMRC, then just hung up on me. I tried ringing three more times and every time they cut me off. So this scammer called me pretending to be some HMRC tax officer, telling me I owed £963 and if I didn’t pay up they’d hit me with a £1500 fine.
