Absolutely an unwanted caller, no doubt about it! He had a thick accent that sounded foreign, and he boldly asserted he was phoning from Canary Wharf. He seemed to know my entire name and mentioned something about my supposed interest in online financial updates. Then, he proceeded to push me to start investing in some dodgy scheme. Clearly, just another financial con artist trying to pull a fast one!

Received an unexpected call from a rather posh-sounding gentleman, who claimed to be employed in Canary Wharf. He addressed me by name and kicked off the conversation by stating he was aware I’d been perusing financial news on the internet. I swiftly interrupted him and blocked his number, as it was glaringly evident he was a scam artist promoting dubious investment schemes. This caller was surprisingly more persuasive than the standard scammers from Indian call centres. It’s genuinely alarming, particularly for vulnerable elderly individuals who might fall prey to such deceitful tactics.
