Got a call from someone with an asian accent who said he was ilwin and told me to download 'timewiever' because bt was going to cut off my internet. Tried calling back but the number just kept being busy, no reply at all.

I just let the call ring out, pretty sure it was one of those dodgy scams. Seriously, why doesn’t BT crack down on these annoying companies?! It’s getting ridiculous!

A woman with an accent rang me up, inquiring whether I was ......................... I replied in the affirmative, and then, just like that, the line went silent. So, I didn’t have to utter another word or take any action to end the conversation. Oddly enough, I think this number has crossed my path a few weeks back.

Got a call supposedly from BT, but it was obvious they weren’t legit.

Some bloke said he was from BT and told me my internet was being hacked. I asked him to prove he was really calling for BT and to give me a number I could ring back on. While he kept talking, I looked up the number myself. Found this site and then told the guy he was having me on and to piss off.

Got a call from someone saying he was Jack from the Microsoft security team about my PC. Not sure many Asians go by Jack, and I don’t even use Microsoft. Felt a bit dodgy to me.

Received a call on the 5th of July, 2016, that popped up as "International out of Area." A gentleman with a foreign accent identified himself as part of 'BT Connect.' He claimed that my internet was experiencing issues and that there were hackers accessing my emails, insisting he needed to perform some kind of maintenance on my connection. I promptly hung up.

I picked up the phone and there was nothing but silence for a moment before someone finally started talking. I hung up before they got to say more than a word or two, kind of felt like it might’ve been from abroad.

Received a call on the 5th of July back in 2016 from some bloke spinning a tale about our BT internet connection, claiming he needed to run some tests, or words to that effect. It was clearly a dodgy call, so I swiftly dismissed him by feigning ignorance about having the internet and pointing out the contradiction in his story about them supposedly disconnecting us.

Some bloke said he was from BT internet tech support but his English was really poor. He started chatting away and wanted me to let him get into my computer to "protect" my internet. I told him it’d be better if I was certain he was actually with BT and not a fraudster. After that, he got all weird and just ended the call.

I received a call from someone claiming to be with BT, stating that they were about to cut off our internet for an hour. I firmly told him that wasn’t possible, and then he proceeded to inquire when it might be a good time for him to ask a few questions. Oddly enough, before I could respond, he just hung up. Quite peculiar, to say the least!

Got a call from someone named Peter Wareer using the number (020 709 78665). He said he was from BT and mentioned the internet would be out for a few days due to security repairs. He seemed to believe he was calling a home, but it’s actually a business line. While we were on the call, he asked us to log into our computer system. We got suspicious and asked if we could talk to his supervisor. Afterwards, he gave a number for our IT team to call back on.

I called them back to find out where they got my number from. The bloke claimed he was from BT and said there was something wrong with my internet line. I told him I wasn’t a customer of BT and asked how he even had my info. Then out of nowhere he started swearing at me and called me some nasty names! When I asked to talk to his manager, he just said he owned BT and told me to piss off. Proper rude!

Received a call meant for our 88-year-old mother, and it raised alarms when he started probing about his computer. He suggested she presses control and R simultaneously. What a complete rotter!
