I answered the call but then it just dropped out on me.

Got an email that looked like it was from eBay, saying I’d either bought or sent an item over £800 to some place in London. The number they put on the email was the same one they wanted me to call. Pretty sure they just want you to freak out and either ring or click on dodgy links. Total scam, watch out!

Apparently, I've been charged £850 for an iPad I never bought. I looked through my eBay purchases and there’s nothing to show for it, so I’m pretty sure this is some kind of fraud. I’ll keep an eye on my bank accounts just to be safe.

Got a dodgy text about some eBay parcel I supposedly was meant to get, but it’s not even real. Total scam!

I've just had a call about some supposed Ebay order, saying they’re taking money straight from my bank for stuff I've never bought. They mentioned an iPhone being sent to some London address, but I don't even live in the UK! Total nonsense.

I got a message about a package supposedly from eBay for something pricey, but the delivery address they mentioned is totally foreign to me. The email was weird, mixing £ and $ symbols all over the place. Not sure what their game is exactly but I'm staying clear and keeping an eye on my bank accounts just in case. Definitely not ringing back!

Got an email from someone pretending to be eBay support trying to scam me. I've already let eBay know about it.

I got an email that looked like it was from eBay, saying I’d bought an Apple Ultra Watch for £510. They told me to call their fraud department on that number if I didn't make the purchase. Definitely a scam, don’t fall for it!

Got a call from some dodgy lot pretending I’d bought something on eBay - total scammers trying to nick your details.

Totally with everyone else on this - it’s a con, pretending to be some ebay order or delivery. Not sure exactly what they’re after, but there’s no way I was going to ring that number!

Got an email about an invoice supposedly from eBay, but it looked totally dodgy - I reckon it’s a scam.

I got an email that looked like it was from eBay about a pricey item I supposedly bought, but the contact number was said to be their fraud department. It felt dodgy so I sent the email over to eBay’s real support to check it out, thinking it was a scam trying to get me to click some dodgy link.

Got an email that looked like it was from eBay with this number attached, saying I should ring them if I hadn’t made the purchase shown on the invoice. I never ordered anything like that.

I got an email supposedly from eBay saying my order had shipped. Oddly, the same phone number popped up twice, once for eBay’s Fraud Protection and again for Customer Support. I checked eBay's site, and that number isn’t there anywhere. Haven't dared ring it yet, but the whole thing smells like a phishing scam trying to lure you into calling that number.

Got one just like this - an email saying it was from Ebay about an ipad mini delivery. It asked me to ring a number but I never bought anything from Ebay, so I just ignored it. Felt like a dodgy trap trying to get me to call.

I got an email that looked like an eBay invoice, and it had this phone number on it. The message said to ring them up if I didn’t buy anything, which seemed off to me. Pretty sure it’s some kind of scam going on here.

Just got a dodgy email dated 19th of December claiming I bought something on eBay. It says my order’s confirmed and gives some weird Pay ID for me to keep. They want me to ring +44 20 7097 5700 if I didn’t make this order, supposedly to contact their fraud team. It’s got an address, 127 Ledbury Rd, London, and lists an Acer laptop for £567 with free delivery between 18 and 20 December. The seller’s name’s Adam Tyler 2 or something like that. It even says the purchase is covered by an eBay guarantee and gave the same phone number again for any issues. Pretty obvious scam trying to freak people out into ringing a number. Ignored it and deleted straight away. Watch out, folks!

+44 20 7097 5700 I got a suspicious email pretending to be from eBay. They said I had bought something but used a completely different address that’s not mine at all. The message read something like: “Thanks for shopping with us. Your item is confirmed and will arrive on Tuesday December 19, 2023. The delivery is set for Hotham House Square, Richmond Upon Thames, UK. You might need to sign for it. Your tracking number is 974780.” They mentioned the item was an Apple Ultra Watch 2 costing £460.85 plus £50 shipping, totalling £510.85. It also said my order was protected by eBay Plus and if I hadn’t ordered it or had any issues, I should call their fraud team immediately on +44 20 7097 5700 for help. I never placed this order and the address isn’t mine so I’m pretty sure it’s a scam. Just be careful if you get something like this!
