This number has rung me up four times in the last day, saying they’re from O2 and talking about my contract. The caller had a really thick Indian accent and I had to ask him to repeat himself a few times. Weird since I was in my local O2 store just under two weeks ago and everything was perfectly fine; my contract isn’t even close to ending so no plans to upgrade. Pretty sure this is some kind of scam. Honestly, I’m almost hoping they ring again so I can have a good rant at them!

This bloke said he was from Lloyds fraud squad after I got a call from Coinbase about someone trying to get into my account from Singapore. Seemed like the same person so I told him I’d rather ring Lloyds fraud team myself, and he got all twitchy. Proper clever scammers, managed to send “verification codes” to my phone while we were on the line. Lloyds checked and said they never called me. Watch out!

I'm based in the North West and got a call claiming to be from EE about a phone contract. I cut them off, told them to email me instead, then hung up since I wouldn't expect EE to ring me like that. It really felt like a scam attempt, so I'd definitely mark that number as dodgy.

Got a call on Easter Saturday arvo from someone saying they were O2, saying I’d won a 50% discount on my bill. They asked me to confirm my identity by telling them my total monthly bill. I said no way, they’re O2 and should already have that info. The bloke insisted they had it but just wanted to double-check who I was. I still refused. Received a call that I suspect was from EE, trying to pitch some enticing offer on a fancier mobile. Unfortunately, the line was so poor that I could hardly grasp what she was saying. Since I'm still tied into my current contract, I politely declined and ended the conversation. Feels a bit dodgy-might just be a scam!

I've been getting calls from this number quite a bit over the past fortnight. They seem to already have information about my EE account. They’re offering me a shiny new iPhone 15 at £35 a month, which certainly sounds more appealing than what I’ve got at the moment-just a £35 upfront cost, too. However, their English isn’t the best, which makes the conversation rather shaky. I requested that they send me an email detailing the terms, and they took down my address, but strangely, nothing has arrived. The calls just keep coming! When I pushed them for details about my current plan, they seemed a bit clueless and just kept regurgitating their offer. I can't shake the feeling that they might be attempting some sort of scam. Quite suspect, if you ask me!

its obvious from what's said up there that this number is linked to some sort of Phone Contract Scam, its a landline run by WAVECREST NETWORKS LIMITED based in London, England, so why isnt anything being done to stop it?

This was definitely a scam, they were acting like they were from O2 but it’s a total fake.

Got a call claiming to be from Vodafone about an iPhone 15 deal. When I said no thanks, they switched to trying to sell me a sim-only plan. They asked me to confirm loads of info, which I did up until they requested bank details. I said no way, even though the guy was pretty pushy. I gave him my email and told him to send me official proof it was really Vodafone. He said he would... but I’m not expecting anything!

I just got a call from this number on my phone. They said they were from Vodafone, but I’ve never had a contract with them so I just ended the call. My number is on the TPS list, so I don’t understand why they were allowed to call me.

if a number shows up without any name it makes me wary, so I usually just block them on my phone

They've been ringing me loads over the past couple of weeks. They’re aware I’m with EE. Offering a new iPhone 15 for £35 a month, which sounds way better than my deal now, with just a £35 upfront cost. Their English isn’t great though. I asked them to send me the details by email, gave them my address, but never got anything. They keep calling anyway. When I questioned them, they didn’t seem to know anything about my current contract and just kept pushing the same offer. Feels like they might be trying to scam me or something. Seems pretty dodgy to me.

I’ve been receiving numerous calls from this number over the past fortnight. They are well aware that I’m a customer of EE. They’re pushing an enticing deal for a new iPhone 15 at £35 a month, which frankly knocks my current deal out of the park, requiring just a £35 initial payment. However, their command of English leaves much to be desired. When I requested them to send me the terms via email, they took down my details but, surprise surprise, no email has landed in my inbox. They continue to ring me persistently. Even when I probed further, they seemed clueless about my current contract and kept regurgitating their offer. I can’t shake the feeling that they might be trying to pull a fast one on me. They’re likely up to no good.

They said they were from O2 but didn’t sound British at all. When I asked exactly where they were calling from, they just said O2 marketing team. Then I asked how they got my number and they suddenly went silent. As soon as I called them a scammer and a fraud, they just ended the call.

Got a call on my phone from someone saying they were with "EE, my network provider" - but I'm not even an EE customer. So I just told them no thanks and ended the call.

Got a call from a woman with an Indian accent, but you could hear other calls going on in the background. No clue what company she was representing or faking. She didn't even seem to remember why she was ringing me. I asked her three times what the call was about, and each time she just said "Sorry?" She never asked me anything either. Looks like a scam, but honestly, she needs to get her act together. I've blocked the number now.

Got loads of calls from this number, all about my Vodafone mobile contract. I told the lady I don’t even have a contract with them and just ended the call, but she rang me back right away! They really don’t stop calling.

That number rang me 3 times in just 2 minutes. I wasn't able to pick up when they called, so I tried ringing back. Got a voicemail saying "you have dialled the wrong number, please check and try again." Definitely seems dodgy. Better not mess around with it.

Got a call earlier from this number saying they was with EE and could give me a new phone for £8 a month. I’d just renewed my EE contract recently, so I knew right away it was a con.

Received a call claiming to be from Three, offering some enticing deals on the iPhone 15. I made it clear I wasn't keen and, to their credit, they graciously wrapped up the conversation without fuss.

I had absolutely no clue what they were on about. If they're attempting to con someone, it would be rather clever of them to have a decent grasp of the language, wouldn’t it?

Got a call offering Vodafone unlimited calls, texts, and data for just £5 a month :) They also said I could upgrade to the new iPhone 16 or a Samsung. Sounded a bit too good to be true!

This number has rung me thrice in just a couple of days on my mobile. I get loads of dodgy calls from what seems to be a London number. The first two calls, the caller just dropped the line right after I picked up. Today, it was like someone had accidentally called me while the phone was in their pocket. Quite strange, so I’ve gone ahead and blocked the number now.

I got a call from someone claiming to be from Three with an amazing deal that sounded way too good. They were asking for my personal info, like my email. When I questioned them, they even tried to log into my Three account using my email. Pretty sure it’s a scam, got my suspicions up for sure.

Someone saying they’re from EE just called me and even knew my name. Problem is, I’m not even an EE customer. Don’t trust that number. He kept pushing a “special offer” for new EE clients after I told him I’m not with them. Proper dodgy.
