I got an email recently from this number claiming to be Whisky Scotland. I decided to call because I’m owed money by the company, which I believe has gone bust. The person on the other end demanded an upfront payment, calling it an early redemption fee, before they’d return my original investment. They said I’d get that fee back only after my capital was repaid. He was really pushy and even started asking why I couldn’t pay immediately and where I was going to get the funds from. Something about the whole thing felt off to me, though I’m not placing any blame just yet.
