Got a call from a recorded voice saying it was Amazon about a supposed £600 order for an Apple iPhone. They told me to press 1 to talk to someone. Since there’s loads of these dodgy calls pretending to be Amazon, I figured this was just another scam and hung up straight away. I always stick to a rule that if a recorded message doesn’t specifically say who they’re trying to reach by name, they have no way of knowing who picked up, which I reckon breaks Data Protection rules.
