Got a call from +442070354848 today. They had a few bits of info but mostly got things wrong. Sounds like a nasty scam to me - I've had calls before pretending to be the home office, making all kinds of threats. Seems there’s some serious data leak happening with UK immigration applications, cos these scammers usually have some past details linked to UKBA claims, which is pretty worrying. As soon as I told the caller I’m not an immigrant and not from the place they guessed, they hung up. Honestly, only answer if you're ready to put these muppets straight, otherwise just ignore it.

I had a call from this number earlier on, the bloke said he was from the UK home office and gave some kind of batch ID or something. He tried to chat but I wasn’t really interested so ended the call. Honestly, I’m baffled how they manage to get hold of phone numbers and personal info like that.

I received a call from 020 7035 4848, and the man on the line claimed to be an officer from the Home Office, giving his name and ID number, which felt quite dodgy to me. He then told me to put everything down and isolate myself because the call was supposedly very important. That kind of request seemed off and not something a genuine official would ask for. I asked straight away if it had to do with any fines or penalties, especially because I’d had a scam call from a different number recently, and as soon as I asked, he hung up and never rang back.

Got a call from this number, the bloke was putting on some dodgy accent - you could hear someone chatting in Urdu in the background. His acting was so bad it actually made me chuckle. I was barely able to stop myself from grinning. He was talking absolute nonsense, started off by saying he was from the home office and told me to check the HMRC website and all that. What he didn’t know was, he was actually ringing a cop.

I received a call earlier today from 02070354748. The person claimed to be from the Home Office and said there's a lawsuit against me. He also mentioned the police have an arrest warrant and that I’m going to be deported. He wouldn’t explain what exactly I was supposed to have done. When I told him to hang up and call me again later, he ended up swearing at me.

SCAM ALERT!! Just got a call from this number claiming to be from the Home Office and immigration. The caller asked if I was online and said I needed to prove who I am. He somehow knew the names of two people in the house even though we never shared our number with him. When the landlady started asking questions, he got really hostile because she was clearly suspicious. He said he knew us from Hare Krishna, which can’t be true, and said he was after a job, but he lives in London while we’re in East Sussex. He switched between English, Hindi and Gujarati. He wanted our personal numbers but when we asked for his, he couldn’t give it properly. He was really rude and pushy all along. Definitely a scam, but I’m not sure how exactly.

I also received a call from this number. Two people were on the line pretending to be genuine UK immigration officers. They told me to visit the .gov.uk website, search for the Home Office, and verify their number. They then asked for my personal information, and sadly, I gave it all away. But when they demanded £300, I ended the call immediately and reported everything to my workplace and other relevant authorities. Please guys, don’t panic or give out your details to strangers. Scammers are everywhere, no matter where you live. Be very careful and stay alert!

Got a call from this number but was tied up in a meeting, so I couldn’t pick up. Once I finished, I rang back and saw it was from the Home Office. Since I’m here on a company transfer visa and wasn’t expecting any calls from them, I contacted my company’s immigration and tax lawyers. They told me this is actually a scam and advised me not to answer if it rings again. Apparently, if the Home Office wants to get in touch, they usually do it via email or official post. Today I received a call from 0207 035 4848 claiming to be from the Home Office immigration department. They started accusing me of some crimes and warned that if I didn’t cooperate, they’d send the police to my house. They said it was a three-way call involving the Home Office, police, and council. That’s when I figured out it was a scam, asked them to send me something in writing, and hung up.

Got a call from this number saying I haven't paid some immigration charge and mentioned an alien number on my passport. The person said I filled out the T19 form wrong and signed it without meeting the rules. He scared me by saying the police were coming to arrest me, and was shocked I hadn’t got any letter about it yet. He said the only fix was chatting to his immigration lawyer, and if the lawyer believed me, he’d sort things out. He told me not to tell anyone about it. I just hung up then - didn’t bother talking to his solicitor. He did get my phone number and full name though.

Today, I got a rather peculiar call from this number that alleged it was from the Home Office. The line was dreadful, full of crackles and interruptions, making it hard to decipher what he was saying. He had this rather imposing way of speaking, urging me to confirm his credentials by visiting the Home Office website. When I explained that I didn't have Internet access, he became quite curt with me, almost scolding me for not being online. His response was quite baffling, asking how on earth I managed to live without the Internet and how I might contact my parents. Quite a surreal experience, really!

I recently received a call from this number, and they seemed to have a concerning amount of my personal details. They probed into my immigration status and even had access to my passport number, threatening me with a fine. I was quite taken aback, especially since the caller ID matched that of the Home Office. It raises serious red flags for me, and I suspect it's a scam since it’s categorised as spam. Can someone advise on whether responding to them is wise? They could easily ring from a different landline and spin the same tale. What steps can we take to guard against potential calls from various numbers if they continue their attempts?

Beware of scammers who will ring you up, claiming there’s a fake arrest warrant in your name and insisting that they can help you dodge the long arm of the law if you pay a fee online. They might even have details like your passport number or personal information and will utilise aggressive tactics to throw you off balance and instil confusion and urgency. Stay sharp and never take anything they say at face value - it’s all lies! If there was ever an issue, rest assured that HMRC or the police would send a formal notice to your home, as they would never resort to threatening phone calls. Stay safe!

Just got a call from 02070354848 with the same story - they even tried to prove it was legit by pulling up the Home Office site and showing that number. Don’t be fooled, don’t give out any personal details. Seems like Lyca mobile users are getting targeted a lot, they must be getting access to some of their customer info and then pretending to be official to make you trust them.

Our ordeal has been quite dreadful, to say the least. It all kicked off when I discovered that my name has been linked to three cases in my country, resulting in an arrest warrant being issued against me. I was utterly taken aback, completely at a loss for words. To add to the disbelief, they had my passport details, which made the whole situation seem alarmingly legitimate. The caller had us imploring him for assistance, and it’s astounding to think he kept us on the line for a full couple of hours. Eventually, he demanded that I pay a fine. It was my husband who, after realising the ruse behind this call, promptly contacted the authorities. Even still, this man persisted, ringing us back to assert that the police needed to take us in, claiming to represent the Home Office. Mark my words, do not engage with any calls from this number; genuine communications from the Home Office will always come via letter, not a phone call.

This call is defo a scam. They try to freak you out by saying you’re a criminal and that they’ll report you to the cops. They want your personal details but won’t send any proof or paperwork to back it up.

Got a call from someone claiming to be from the UK Home Office. He insisted I pay a 950GBP security deposit. When I said no, he got really mad and threatened me, saying I'd be banned from the UK and my passport would be blacklisted. A couple of days later, the same number (0843 308 8259) rang me again asking for 2000GBP this time. I refused again and he started yelling in Hindi, throwing insults, and then just hung up.

Got a couple of calls from these lot over the last two months - total spam. I luckily didn’t get sucked in but they keep ringing back. They mostly ring around 9 or 10 in the morning, sometimes for a few days on the trot if you don’t pick up. My husband’s work warned us about these scams and said the UK Home Office would only contact you by email or letter, never by phone. So don’t get worried if you get calls like this. Definitely report it to Action Fraud!

This number 020 7035 4848 rang me pretending to be from the HOME office UK. They told me I’m going to be deported due to some case against me. They wanted me to go online and verify an email to get the process going. I ended the call right away. After they kept ringing me non stop, I had to block the number and also reported it to Action Fraud.

I got a call from this number too, and I gave them my passport number, OCI card number, NI number and my UK driving licence details. But when they began talking about transferring money, I got suspicious and didn’t send anything. Now I’m realising it was a scam! But they have my passport and other info, should I be worried? Cheers.

Yesterday, my wife received a phone call while she was at work and unfortunately got caught up in their scam. The caller told her to leave work immediately and stay quiet without telling anyone. I was pretty shocked when she suddenly arrived home since I was working from home that day. She said nothing except that she wanted to surprise me. She locked herself in the bedroom and was still talking to this guy on the phone. They totally manipulated her, and she ended up transferring £1700 from her business account into their account.

I just received a rather bizarre phone call from someone claiming to be from the Home Office, insisting they were on their way to apprehend me because they believed I was a terrorist. Honestly, what a ridiculous prank! It was incredibly frustrating, so I just ended the call.

My partner received a call like that too, telling him he’d be deported. Then the very next day, I got one as well. It’s definitely a scam. The bloke’s accent was fake, sounded neither Asian nor British at all.

Hey everyone, I got a call like this this morning too. They said the exact same thing, told me to move to a quiet area and threatened deportation. When I asked who gave them my number, they just cut off right away. Don’t stress too much about it, just block and ignore these calls. I reckon they might be pulling numbers from Gumtree, cause I only put that number on Gumtree like 3 days ago and nowhere else.

i keep getting calls from people claiming to be the Home Office, but actually, it’s UKVI now, so that’s a dead giveaway it’s dodgy... don’t ever give out your info, UKVI only calls if you’ve actually made an application. these scammers, probably based abroad (no idea how they get our numbers), pretend to be official and try to scare you with deportation threats. don’t fall for it and be sure to report these calls to the police.

Throughout the entire call, I had to remain on the line, avoid using any gadgets, and not speak to anyone until these supposed officers turned up... They even made some sounds to convince me they were actually from the immigration department. It's shocking that these scammers can still roam freely in the UK, especially when so much is spent on security here. These crooks easily trick people out of their money, and honestly, they’re the ones deserving of being behind bars. Call number: +442070354848 Call number: 02070354848

I got a call from a number that seemed pretty dodgy right from how they spoke. When I refused to give any info, the caller started being rude real quick. Honestly, I don’t get what they’re hoping to achieve with these calls. Best just to hang up and not deal with these muppets at all.

The individual goes by the name of Sharif Alt Walton, and I believe he's a native Urdu speaker from Pakistan. He was quite forceful, claiming there’s an arrest warrant issued against you in your home country and insisting you vacate your workplace immediately. He even threatened that officers could arrive to take you away. I must say, when I mentioned my treatment, he lost his temper and began hurling insults. Just a heads up - exercise caution with this number!

Got a call from someone called Sharif Alt Walton, I reckon he’s Pakistani and speaks Urdu. He was saying stuff about an arrest warrant from my country and that I need to leave the office, otherwise his ‘officers’ would come and arrest me. I told him to calm down but he just lost it and started shouting and swearing. Be careful with this number 02070354848, definitely dodgy.

I’ve had a similar experience - they requested all my information but never followed up. If this is truly a legitimate home office, then why is it flagged as spam by so many? Quite baffling, isn’t it?

I had a rather peculiar experience recently. I received a call from someone claiming to be with the UK Home Office, inquiring whether I was at home or in the office. Naturally, I asked them for their name and where they were situated as a means of verifying their credentials. To my surprise, their response was rather vague; they suggested checking their details on a website. Just as I was gathering my thoughts, my reception wavered and the call dropped. Curious, I dialled the number back, and indeed, it was associated with the UK Home Office. However, the representative informed me that if a call is interrupted, they only attempt to reach you three times. I held on, expecting them to ring me back, but time passed and nothing came through. It wasn’t until I conducted a bit of research online that I discovered the very number I had called is flagged both as a legitimate UK Home Office number and one associated with fraudulent activities. Quite alarming, isn't it?

Hello everyone, I wanted to bring to your attention an alarming situation regarding calls from the number “+442070354848” or “02070354848.” If you happen to receive a call from this number, it's best to ignore it entirely. While it may appear to be an official GOV.UK number, scammers have managed to spoof it, tricking unsuspecting individuals into thinking it's legitimate. Remember, if the government needs to reach out to you, they will do so directly. These deceitful individuals often use distressing tactics, claiming that you're facing arrest in your home country-not from the UK government themselves. They might offer to assist you in resolving a fraudulent arrest scenario, but don’t be fooled. Their target is vulnerable foreigners, and all they dish out is complete nonsense aimed at parting you from your cash. Regrettably, I fell victim to this scam and lost a substantial amount of money. Please exercise caution-if you receive calls purporting to be from any government agency, particularly concerning immigration or law enforcement, don’t take anything at face value. These scammers will ask you to send money through wire transfers, which is a surefire way to lose your funds without any chance of recovery. I’m sharing this experience in hopes of preventing anyone else from falling prey to such malicious schemes. Stay safe and vigilant!
