Upon picking up, though, the line went dead as they disconnected.9 yearsI received a call purporting to be from BT Open Reach, insistent that my router was due for an upgrade. The chap asked me to navigate to www.speedtest.com, claiming my connection speeds were dismally slow. He then directed me to www.anytest.com. At that juncture, I requested the phone number of BT Open Reach to confirm his assertions. To my surprise, he refused and urged me to complete the test instead. When I pressed him again for the contact number, he abruptly disconnected the call. It might just be a coincidence, but I noticed during our conversation that my router indicated that the wireless security feature was disabled.
