Got a call from a guy with an Indian accent, claiming he was from Accident Helpline. Before he could go on, I told him I don't take calls like that and cut off. He rang back about an hour later, so I’ve just blocked the number now.

I've been receiving the same silent calls from this number, often twice a day, for about a week now. There seems to be a break, then it starts up again for another week or so. I wouldn't be surprised if those random calls about fictitious car accidents are somehow connected, but honestly, I just tell them to bog off! When I attempt to ring this number to voice my frustration, it says it's "Not recognised." Quite the nuisance, I must say!

For quite a few months now, we've been experiencing these annoying bursts of silent phone calls, typically lasting around a week at a time, only to be followed by a break of about ten days before they start up again. I have a strong hunch that these calls are linked to some dubious claims about mythical RTA incidents, as we do encounter those too. Despite my attempts to tell them to simply shove off, it seems to have no effect whatsoever. I even tried ringing the number to lodge a complaint, but was met with the frustrating response that it is "Not recognised."

Got a call from this number, some bloke named Omar. He heard my baby crying and then started talking about wanting to mess around with me and the kid! Unbelievable stuff happens here in England and nobody seems to care or do owt about it!

Some bloke called himself Mohammed and said he was from Nationwide Insurance. The moment he asked "how are you today?" I just ended the call. I’m fed up with this company ringing me all the time on both my landline and phone. Seriously, someone needs to put a stop to this and the fools who keep giving out my numbers.

These are total scam calls from India. Someone rang me about a car crash, I told them I couldn't recall much cos I was hurt in the accident. He asked about the injuries, so I said "Head, I suppose." Then he wanted to know more, but I said I didn't really remember. Then he just dropped the call. They’re proper daft and still keep ringing. Best thing is to waste as much of their time as possible. Next time I’m gonna switch to my other persona, call myself "RAJ" and put on a silly accent just for laughs.

I've been receiving incessant calls regarding some supposed accident. Just last week, this chap kept prattling on with his so-called "details," absolutely going on and on. I finally snapped and told him to pipe down and actually hear me out. That’s when he completely lost the plot and started hurling insults, calling me a right M**** F*****. I cheekily replied, suggesting perhaps he was referencing his father, pointing out the absurdity of it - a little tosser like him is the result of that. I won't go into the foul language he threw my way afterwards, but it was quite something!

I explained I hadn’t been involved in any mishap and asked him to refrain from calling me again. He nonchalantly responded that he would call whenever he pleased. The first call came from an Indian/Asian guy claiming to be from Nationwide, but I couldn’t make out a single thing he said. I just told him to buzz off and hung up. Then at 16:40, a foreign woman called me. Same issue, I said I wasn’t interested and ended the call. She rang back immediately, and I ignored it. She called again, so I picked up but she hung up right away. She gave me four more rings after that! Hopefully, she got the hint by now.

He claimed to be from Nationwide Solicitors, so I inquired about the reason for their calls, reminding him that I'm registered with the Telephone Preference Service and requested they remove my number from their list. To my astonishment, he had the audacity to ring me back and tell me to ‘calm down’. That really got my back up, and I let him know I’d report him before hanging up. Received a call earlier today from a rather unpleasant individual. When I politely expressed my disinterest, I was told to "get lost." Not long after, another call came through. When I inquired about the name of the company, I was informed it was the Claims Department of Nationwide Solicitors. It turned out to be a colleague following up on the previous call. Got a call from an Indian bloke asking for his manager, his English was pretty poor. Said he worked for some accident company and mentioned a traffic accident I supposedly had. I told him I don’t drive, so I couldn’t have been in any accident. Then he went on to say it must be someone else who used to live at my place, and they probably have the same number as me.

On the 18th of August, I received a call from a chap with an Indian accent who claimed to be investigating some sort of nationwide fraud. It was all quite vague, and before I could ask more questions, he hung up and didn’t bother to ring back. It's a bit concerning, especially since we had a similar incident a few weeks back with the number 01312282264. They insisted our computer had been compromised, which turned out to be another fraudulent attempt. Quite unsettling, really!

Got a call from some Indian woman named "Susan" on 020 6312 5431, asking about some accident. Claimed she was with "Nationwide Solicitors". Mentioned the TPS to her but she just ignored it. Eventually told her to shove off and ended the call.

He started off by saying something like, '[Name similar to mine] here.' I replied, 'Well, that's a coincidence, that's my name as well.' (Yeah, I know sarcasm is sort of the lazy way to be funny, but I keep my better comebacks for people who deserve it.) Then he claimed to be ringing from 'Nationwide Solicitors' about my 'recent accident'.

A man with an accent rang me about some sort of payout for a car crash I supposedly had in the past three years. I told him I've never been in an accident!!!!!!!!!!!!! But if I had, I guess I might have shared my details with him,____ How are we meant to tell if these calls are legit or not - feels a bit worrying when you're by yourself.

Got a call from an Asian bloke(!) saying I’d been in some accident. Said he’d got the info from the “Traffic Management Bureau” - looked it up, and there’s one in China. When I asked for details about this supposed accident, he just asked if I didn’t recall it. I made it clear I had no memory ‘cause it never took place. He hung up, no shock there.

Received a call about some accident claim that my insurance is handling, but the person was pushy wantin more details even after I clearly said I wasn’t interested. Then they got pretty rude. Tried to ring back to raise a complaint but the number didn’t come up anywhere. Honestly, something has to be done about these types of callers.

Picked up a call this morning at 10.42, bloke said he was from some accident support line. Before he could get a word in, I told him we’re on the TPS list. He just sneered and said, "And? What you gonna do?" I said I’d report the call, he just laughed and started a row. Told him to take my number off his list, he flat out refused. Ended up telling him to bugger off and hung up.

Got loads of calls from a bloke with an Indian accent. I did have an accident recently and he’s only started calling after that. He even knows my name. When I asked where he’s calling from, he said National Accident Helpline, but I don’t believe him. Now I just tell him to leave me alone and hang up. Funny thing is, when I try calling that number back, it says it’s not recognised. I’ve reported it to my actual insurance company, and if this carries on, I’m ready to take it further - even involve the police if needed.

I told them to quit calling me, but they rang back anyway. So I told the bloke to get lost, but he called again and said he was coming 'round on Sunday at 5 to sort me out.

Got a call from this number today, they claimed to be from Nationwide or something like that but thankfully my mum just said goodbye and ended the call. They haven’t rung again yet, but I’m sure they will.

I got a call from some insurance place saying a family member was in a car accident. They kept asking for my mum, even though she passed away 5 years ago. When I told them to stop calling my number, they just ignored me. Really disrespectful and cold.

Landline 02063125431 keeps ringing me too. This time it was a bloke called Mohamid, chatting about some “accident”. Told him straight up to leave me alone cos I know it’s a scam. What really winds me up though, is all the complaints here and nothing seems to be done by the authorities or phone companies to stop it. It should be dead easy - if a number gets like 10 complaints, cut off their line and slap a massive extra charge on whoever pays for it. Maybe even ban them from getting another phone line. Let them try suing the phone company over the huge bill and see how they get on!

I received a rather odd phone call from someone who purported to be representing the MIB regarding a supposed car accident. But honestly, what accident are they on about? I pressed the bloke, who claimed his name was Michael Catchpole - though he had a distinctly Asian appearance - insisting that he couldn’t possibly be from the MIB, which handles matters regarding uninsured drivers. To my surprise, he abruptly hung up. Shortly after, a woman called, also claiming to be Catchpole. I confronted her as well, and just like her counterpart, she swiftly ended the conversation too. Quite suspicious, don’t you think?

Picked up the phone, but no one spoke! Reading through other comments, I’m honestly relieved. I’m sick of telling these company reps over and over to stop ringing me. I’ve tried being nice and even asked for details so I could officially ask them to remove me from their database. But after receiving so many calls non-stop, I’ve decided just to hang up as soon as they start their spiel. Properly annoying.

This number has been ringing me non-stop for the past couple of days, even though I told the bloke to take me off his list and stop phoning me. He introduced himself as Jack and said he’s with some Accident helpline. Proper pushy and rude guy. He knew our full address and kept repeating it, like trying to get me to confirm. He also thought I was my husband’s daughter and was trying to flirt with me (because apparently I sound like a 15-year-old, what a creep). Said he could see me and was watching me too. I’ve reached out to the Ombudsman to see if they can help with this mess.
