5 yearsSome bloke rang up claiming to be from Carphone Warehouse, said he had a cracking deal for me. Started asking for £30 as some sort of 'verification fee' and wanted all my card details. I ended up stalling on the phone ages, just mucking about. Eventually, I called him out as a massive liar, and he went off on me, calling me all sorts of names like a proper muppet. It was pretty funny, but I can see how folks might fall for that scam!CarphoneWarehouse5 yearsWatch out for this scam! They claimed to be calling from Carphone Warehouse, offering me an unbelievable deal that seemed way too good to be real. Said they were part of some special promo team. They send you emails, but you have to be really careful checking the domain name. They just change it slightly, so most people wouldn't notice. Never give out your personal info! Earlier today, I got a call from what looked like a fake Fonehouse too. Look at the difference in the email domains below. The real website is www.fonehouse.co.uk but the email I received came from a very similar address with an extra ‘s’ sneaked in at the end. Honestly, don’t waste your time speaking with them.
