2 monthsSomeone rang me pretending to be from HMRC. I just hung up and blocked the number straight away.HMRC8 monthsTrying to fish out my personal info, claiming they’d sort the repairs with my landlord. Buzz off…8 yearsGot a call from a number I hadn’t seen before but with the exact same spiel as last time. They did manage to get part of my name correct, which kinda freaked me out. It was someone saying, ‘This is xxx from BT’s IT team.’ When I told her, ‘No, you’re not,’ she just dropped the call and said ‘bye’ like it was nothing. If this was really BT, wouldn’t they have my full name and more proof to back it up? Seems dodgy to me.BT8 yearsAs soon as I said hi, they just ended the call.8 yearsDefinitely a scammer ringing me up.8 yearsGot a call from another Indian call centre claiming they were BT and that there was an issue with my internet. I decided to humour them by pretending to boot up my PC and saying I couldn’t find what they wanted me to do. Eventually, they ended the call. Managed to keep them chatting for about 7 minutes, so hopefully that wasted their time and saved someone else from getting caught out.Submit Your Own Report (020 4918 5742)
