I picked up the phone but all I got was complete silence, no one spoke a word.

Got a call from someone claiming to be with a firm I bought tools from before. They mentioned I qualified for a hefty discount. It sounded obvious they were from an Indian call centre since I could hear loads of other people talking in the background. The connection was rubbish, cutting in and out, and then the bloke just hung up halfway through what he was saying.

Got a call from some bloke claiming he was with EE and offering me 20% off my decent EE deal. When he asked how much I was paying each month, I told him he’d already have that info if he was really from EE. Then he suddenly admitted he was actually from a marketing firm! I just told him to jog on.
