No doubt, this was a scam, not just some random telemarketer. I got a call from a bloke named John claiming there were grants available for putting up solar panels around here. But when I asked him to be specific about my area, he just cut me off right away. Checking out the "Who Called Me" map shows their calls spread all across the UK, which makes me suspicious. It hardly seems like they’re trying to push expensive solar setups everywhere. My guess is they're fishing for vulnerable folks and then selling that info on.

Got loads of calls from the same solar panel company, but they keep changing their phone number every time. I reckon they use some kind of software to make it seem like it's a new caller, so blocking them doesn’t do much good. Really hope OFCOM steps in soon and makes it mandatory for these numbers to be verified properly... would be a big help.

It’s also a good idea to screenshot the message and email it to the police at '[email protected] for anywhere else in the UK.
