1 yearI was in the middle of renewing my driving licence online and, I admit, I went a bit too fast with it. I should’ve been more careful. Things felt off when I didn’t get a confirmation email, but instead got welcomed by some company named “assist on line”. They took £102 from me. I rang my credit card provider hoping to stop the payment, but they said it was too late to cancel. Tried reaching out to that company, but they simply ignored me. In the end, I had to block my card and ask for a replacement.1 yearWhen I went to renew my UK driving licence through the DVLA, I nearly got caught out by a dodgy company called ‘assist online’ who wanted to take £80 just to handle the payment. Luckily, my bank blocked the transaction before any money was lost.UKDVLA2 yearsI’m pretty sure this was a total scam. I clicked a link that looked like it was from the DVLA trying to renew my driving licence and it asked me to pay. Luckily, my bank blocked the payment because it flagged it as suspicious. Now I have to get a new bank card sorted out. It’s crazy that something like this can happen on what looked like an official government site. Turns out there wasn’t even a fee to pay anyway, which I only found out after the fact. Really dodgy stuff!DVLA2 yearsI was trying to renew my driving licence on the official gov.uk website but somehow got redirected here. When I checked with my bank, I noticed a charge of £87! Luckily, I realised it was wrong because licences for people over 70 are free. Turns out, that was a fee for their "services." Now I’m getting loads of emails from them too. Warning to everyone: be careful. I ended up giving away quite a bit of personal info.2 yearsI came across a website by mistake when trying to renew my driving licence. At the final step, it asked me for payment, which is when I noticed it wasn’t the official site. I quickly exited, but afterwards I received an email from them reminding me my application was incomplete since I hadn’t entered any payment info. Honestly, this site seems dodgy and really ought to be shut down. Hopefully someone will take action soon.2 yearsWatch out, these scammers are really risky!!
