Whenever I pick up the phone and greet them, they just hang up on me.

I received a rather dubious call from someone purporting to represent Iceland, the frozen food retailer, claiming I'd won a competition. They insisted that in order to receive my so-called prize, I needed to provide my bank details for a transfer. I immediately recognised this as a scam and told the caller so. Upon hearing my response, they promptly ended the call.

This morning, I received a rather dubious call from these folks. Naturally, I inquired about the purpose of their call and how on earth they obtained my number! I made it clear that I have significant brain injuries and that I would report this to my Deputy, who would investigate whether this operation is legitimate. To my dismay, he insisted that I handle everything myself, ignoring the fact that I informed him about my condition. The chap tried to assure me that I’d submitted some details online in a bid to win a smartphone, and now apparently I have a stellar chance of striking it rich in the lottery-what utter rubbish! He was quite aware of my delicate situation yet still attempted to pressure me into revealing my banking information! How can anyone stoop so low? It’s positively appalling, especially during the festive season!

I keep receiving calls from a series of similar numbers, and I've blocked each one without fail. It seems they might be using a range of numbers to try and get through to me.

This morning, my home phone rang but when I picked up, there wasn't a word from the other end. Shortly after, I received two calls on my mobile. After looking into it, it appears others have experienced the same. There's talk of an Amazon scam floating about, which is odd since I don't have an account with them!
