Phone number ☎️ 02045850062 👆 is reported as a persistent and aggressive scam originating from an overseas caller pretending to be an O2 representative offering a 40% discount. The caller attempts to trick individuals into sharing a one-time passcode (OTP) sent via genuine O2 texts, which grants them access to victims’ accounts for fraudulent contract purchases or personal data theft. Numerous recipients note the caller's poor English and unprofessional, sometimes hostile behaviour when challenged. Legitimate O2 communications use a specific sender format distinct from the scam messages. Recipients are strongly advised not to share any OTP or personal details, never engage with the caller, and block the number immediately. Reporting such incidents to official fraud authorities is essential to prevent further victimisation.

Got a call from an Asian bloke claiming to be from a debt company about unsecured debts I supposedly owe, which I definitely don’t. Don’t know how he even had my name, I told him he had the wrong number. Watch out for this number, he was pushy and kept asking for my payment info.

Some woman with a foreign accent called me, claiming I owed money or somethin'. I told her I don’t owe anyone a penny and asked her to send a letter instead, then she just hung up. Later, the same number rang again, but I declined and blocked it. After that, they started callin’ again, changin’ the last two digits each time. I kept blockin’ ’em but they just keep coming back. No idea how they manage that, but it’s obvious they’re scammers. Not genuine at all.

Got a call on my phone claiming to be from O2 UK! The guy was Asian and his English was really poor, saying I’d get a 40% off discount!! Sent me a message too, looked like an official O2 security text at a quick glance, but then I noticed it was from O2 UK with a space, not the usual O2UK without a space - a small detail but suspicious. I rang O2 on my landline, and they checked, saying no such deal is happening and thanked me for the heads up. I also gave them the phone number that called me. Blocked the caller and reported the message as spam. Watch out for this!

Got a call from an Asian guy claiming to be from O2, said he could give me a huge discount if I read out a code from a text he supposedly sent. I asked if he really worked for O2 and he just ended the call. Sounds like a dodgy scam to me.

I received a call that purported to be from O2, boasting a hefty 40% discount. When I expressed my lack of interest, they pressed me for reasons. I told them I never make purchases off unsolicited calls, and before I could finish my sentence, they cut me off and hung up. I'm pretty convinced this is a dodgy scam.

Got a call from a man with an Asian accent saying he was from O2. He told me my bill was cut by 40% and asked me to share codes I’d get by text. It sounded dodgy to me, so I just ended the call straight away. Seemed like a scam for sure.

I could tell straight away that the name he mentioned didn’t match up with the account holder, which gave it all away as a fraud. I let him know I was onto his little scheme and that he ought to feel rather embarrassed for attempting to con others, especially during the festive season. I made it clear that I didn’t want to hear from him again!

I answered cause I was expecting a call. The bloke said he was Jim Nelson and said he worked for o2, then started describing me (which was REALLY STRANGE as it was dead on) and kept asking if I remembered him. I told him I had no idea who he was and I'm not with o2. Then he said, no, I'm Jim Nelson, not from o2, don’t you recall me? I just hung up. He tried calling back but I didn’t answer.

Absolutely dreadful scam going on! They’re pretending to be from O2 and are trying to lure you in with a tantalising 40% discount. They ask you for an OTP message under the guise of "verifying" your identity, which, mind you, comes from the legitimate O2. If you’re foolish enough to share that code with these con artists, they'll seize control of your contract and phone number in the blink of an eye. Stay vigilant, folks!

Just ignore and end the call. It’s one of those text message scams pretending to be O2. They keep you distracted on the phone while they ring O2 for real in the background. Then O2 sends you a security code by text and the scammer tries to trick you into giving it to them so they can mess with your actual O2 account.

I received a rather dodgy call claiming to be from 02, saying I could enjoy a whopping 40% discount on my bill. They even followed up with a text! However, upon closer inspection of that message, it became glaringly obvious that the code they wanted was actually to take control of my 02 account. Seems like a classic attempt at account hijacking. Best advice? Don’t give them the code! Just end the call and block the number - it’s not worth the hassle!

I received a call from someone masquerading as O2, claiming they were offering a 40% discount on my bill for the "festive season." They even followed it up with a text containing a code. The funny thing is, I’ve never been a customer of O2 and the number I use has no ties to them whatsoever. When I informed the bloke that I’m not with O2, he tried to debate with me! But as soon as I pointed out the obvious scam, he quickly ended the call. How brazen!

About five mins ago I got a call from this number. Since I’m pretty good at doing funny voices, especially the one that goes 'the person you’re tryin’ to reach can’t answer right now,' I thought I’d have a bit of fun and try it out. They just dropped the call pretty quick. Just before I did the voice, I think I heard them mutter something like ‘bloody hell’. Sorry, can’t tell you much more than that.

The person calling is trying to hack into your O2 account and will ask you for a verification code so they can get in. During the call, they'll try to log in and you'll receive a security alert text, which they'll poorly try to explain. They'll say they need the code to "confirm the number," but it's actually the one from the call. They're using your account to place orders or sign up for contracts under your name.
5 years
Received a call from someone purporting to be O2, saying they had a fantastic 40% off deal for my SIM. The only trouble is, I don’t even have an O2 SIM card! When I pressed for more information, the individual became quite aggressive, suggesting they would come to my house. When I mentioned involving the police, they bizarrely suggested we meet in a park instead! Absolutely do not share any personal information with these characters!
5 years
This is definitely a con! They’re attempting to access your O2 account to buy phones under your name. If you share your phone number with them, they could easily manage to break in. Whatever you do, don't ever share that six-digit code!

Pretending to be O2, these fraudsters are up to no good. They haven't a clue who you are and skip the usual security checks that a real O2 representative would conduct. It's best not to engage with them at all and steer clear of sharing any personal information-even your name!

It's clearly one of those dodgy calls; just hang up! They’re only after your banking information!

Is this a con? They were quite civil and didn’t request any of my banking details. I'm currently queued up with O2, dialling 202 from my phone to verify things. Honestly, I'm struggling to see how this could be a scam, as all they requested was the security code they sent me?
5 years
I must apologise for my previous message. 02 has indeed verified that this is a fraudulent activity. It's quite clever, really; they don’t bother asking for your personal information, as they've likely already obtained it. Instead, they simply need you to provide the access code they've sent you, which would then allow them to take over your account completely. Should you find yourself in this predicament, I urge you to contact 02 right away at the number 202 and mention the word "fraud." They will assist you accordingly.

Complete scam! Received a text purporting to be from O2, stating I was eligible for a whopping 40% discount on my bill. They provided a code, claiming it was for security, but something felt off. I received a rather dubious communication purporting to be from O2, boasting a tempting 40% discount on my bill. They sent a text containing a code, justifying it as a security measure.
