I received a call claiming to be from a national debt advisory service, proposing a government-backed programme that could help wipe out a considerable chunk of my debts. The truth is, my only significant debt is my student loan, which I doubt qualifies as 'large’ in their terms. When I pointed this out, they just ploughed on with their scripted pitch. I eventually had to inform them that this was the third time I’d been contacted-twice from a Manchester number and now this one-so I requested they cease calling me. The moment I said that, the caller abruptly hung up. What’s troubling is that they had my full name and even asked for it at the start of the conversation!

I told him my missus actually works for O2, and when I started questioning him about his identity, he just ended the call. Got a call today, 15th Dec 2021, from someone saying they were from O2, which they claimed was my phone provider. They didn’t seem to get it when I told them my phone's actually not with O2. When I asked for their company info and the address of their legal department so I could take legal action, they got really awkward. Don’t know what that was about, but they hung up on me pretty quick. Not impressed!

He was going on about some special deal for a discounted mobile, apparently meant for "valued customers." Well, I had to chuckle, as I've never even had an O2 plan, and the number he called was linked to my work! On 15/12/21 I got a phone call from a bloke with a thick Indian accent who said he was ringing from "O2". He was trying to sell me discounted mobile phones and kept going on about how much they "value their customers" and wanted to maintain a lasting relationship by giving exclusive deals. Thing is, I’m not even a customer of O2! Plus, the number he dialled was my work mobile, not a personal one. It's so clearly a scam - don’t fall for it!!

I suspect this number is definitely a scam. Whenever I've tried ringing it, it jumps straight to voicemail, which instructs you to either leave a message or hit star for the operator. However, when you press star, it merely loops back to the same voicemail prompt again. Quite dodgy, if you ask me!
