I got a call from a male BOT voice pushing some medical pendant, this was actually the second time I had a call like this. When I asked questions, it didn’t understand at all, then suddenly started offering the pendant for free. I just hung up and blocked the number with 1572. Tried calling back to see what was up, but there was a recorded message saying the line’s been cut off because of “suspected or actual fraudulent activity”. The message was in a weird transatlantic accent, then repeated four more times in different languages. Proper dodgy!

Looks like Sam’s been quite active. They rang our Merseyside home phone, said they were from a local health firm trying to pitch a medical alert gadget. Didn’t answer any of my questions about their name or company, and kept talking over me, which was pretty annoying. I ended up putting the phone down. This number has popped up before, but we just ignored it last time.

BEWARE, SCAM ALERT. Got a call from some bloke named Sam claiming he was from a health firm. This is the second time in a couple weeks I’ve had this exact call. Just ended the call straight away. The number was 020 457 98387.

Got a call from someone who claimed to be Sam, a health worker from around here. He tried to convince me I had some medical problem (which I absolutely don’t). Then he started scaring me, asking what I’d do if I had a fall and couldn’t get help. I said I wasn’t interested and ended the call. He’s rung twice now. Pretty sure it’s a scam, so watch out folks.

Really appreciate reading all these replies, they match my experience spot on. Someone rang me saying they were a health official local to me. They dodged every straight question I asked. They tried to pressure me into buying some sort of medical alert wristband. What freaked me out was I do genuinely need one, so I assumed they had prior knowledge, which made me worry how they got my contact details. After seeing others’ stories here, I’m relieved it was just a random scam call. Still, pretty unsettling stuff.

Got a call from someone with totally wrong details - I'm nowhere near 70 and am perfectly healthy. They wouldn't let me explain and just talked over me, so I ended the call. Really rude behaviour. It wasn’t an automated message either; when I asked where they found my info, a person answered.

I recently received a call from 02045798387, and to be honest, it was quite unsettling. It had the vibe of being a bloke on the line, claiming he was about to send out a medical tagging device for a severe health issue. The nature of the call was filled with awkward silences, and every time I tried to respond, he seemed to interrupt me, almost as if he was reading from a script that felt oddly lifelike. I would highly recommend steering clear of this number!

Totally a scam. Got a couple of calls from some bloke claiming I had health problems which I don’t have, then said I qualified for a FREE MEDICAL ALERT DEVICE. While he was chatting, I kept asking where he got this info from. I had to tell him to stop talking over me, quite loudly, and then he just hung up.

Someone named Sam, claiming to be a health worker from my area, rang me up out of the blue trying to sell these medical alert bracelets for about £1.30 a day. When I told him to ring me back later, he said I could just pay upfront and if I wasn’t happy, they’d give my money back. At that moment I just ended the call. Honestly, I could see how folks might get caught out by this kind of thing.

Like others have mentioned, the gadget itself is free but you end up paying a daily fee of £1.30 for the service. If I ever decide to get one, I’d probably check with folks who’ve actually used these things first before jumping in.

He claimed to be from the Health Board and kept going on about how their records said I needed one of those Care Call buzzers. He just kept rambling without stopping. When I asked which Health Board he was from, he went silent for a bit but then just carried on with his spiel without giving a proper answer. I told him several times he was talking rubbish, but he just wouldn’t shut up. Eventually, I ended the call. This kind of thing could be really harmful for elderly folk who might genuinely need the service.

TOTAL SCAM - My mother in law kept getting persistent calls from some person pushing medical gear she never asked for. They claimed they knew about her health issues and insisted their products could help. Medical info is supposed to be confidential, so it’s clear this idiot got the wrong number. But imagine if they hadn’t? Imagine if someone vulnerable actually believed the lies and lost their savings. It’s disgusting. Why don’t these people get proper jobs instead of trying to cheat honest folks out of their cash? Absolutely shameful!

Like others have said, it’s definitely a medical-related scam. What’s weird is that the call sounded exactly the same as one I got just a couple days earlier. The bloke, who said his name was Sam or something similar, kept hesitating and saying ‘erm’ a lot. That made me think it might be some sort of AI voice. If it was a genuine person reading off a script, they wouldn’t have those exact same pauses every time. I’ve blocked the number, but they just keep switching to new ones!

Some quick-talking ‘local health advisor’ starts going on like they know about my medical issues, trying to push a wrist alarm or pendant on me. It took me ages to cut him off and tell him I already live in sheltered accommodation and have one of those gadgets. If you’re thinking of getting a pendant or alarm, make sure you deal with a respected, proper company, otherwise you might get caught out like this.

I get calls pretty much twice a day from numbers that look alike but keep changing, so blocking them feels useless. They hang up as soon as my answerphone picks up. It’s really annoying and exhausting. Seems like spam, or maybe something worse trying to get info or something.

Got a call from a guy named Sam who claimed my medical records show I need a necklace pendant for health reasons. When I asked which health organisation he was ringing from, he just talked over me and wouldn't give any real info. Sam, if you happen to see this, do some proper research next time because I WORK FOR THE LOCAL COUNCIL AND WE DEFINITELY DON’T MAKE CALLS LIKE THIS!! I’m going to report you, but you’re lucky you didn’t share more company details, though I do have your number. Everyone, watch out for these SCAMMERS trying to take your money!!

Just got a ring from someone called Sam claiming to be a healthcare worker. Didn’t even want to waste time and hung up immediately. These scammers pretending to help sick folks are totally dodgy.

Got a call from someone claiming to be a local health official. I picked up by accident, was in a hurry and thought it was someone else. They told me I supposedly have certain medical conditions and that my name appeared on a list, saying people over 70 should wear medical ID so emergencies can be handled properly. The thing is, I’m nowhere near 70 and have no such conditions. Total scam. When I tried to tell them I wasn’t interested, they talked over me and were quite rude. Felt like they were just reading from a script or something.

This is definitely a scam, best to ignore the call.

Got a call like the one someone else mentioned here - some health guy talking about a free pendant I supposedly qualify for. I told him if I wanted one, I’d sort it, then I just ended the call. These scammers are really awful, targeting elderly folks like that. It makes me wonder why they’re still allowed to get away with it. Why isn’t there more done to stop them???

Some bloke called Sam rang up saying he was from the health service or something, offering a free pendant to help if we had a fall, ‘cause he ‘knew’ about our health problems. Total load of rubbish though, we’re perfectly fine and didn’t ask for any of that. Just another annoying call from some muppet, honestly.

It definitely seemed like a phishing scam, sounded like one of those recorded messages. The stuff they said was all over the place and didn't make much sense, like no real person was behind it. They kept talking about how our care line service isn’t fully available or something. I just ended the call and blocked the number straight away.

Got a call from a polite young bloke who kept checking if I could hear him alright. He said he was from healthcare or something similar. I quickly jumped in to say I was fine, didn’t ask for any call, and that I never give out my info over the phone. He then said have a nice day and ended the call. Sorted!

It seems that someone is masquerading as the NHS.

Got a call from someone claiming to be a health care worker in my area. They said my medical records showed I qualified for a free pendant in case I had a fall and didn’t want to be left alone. Thing is, I’m really active - usually walk about 7 miles a day with my dog - and I’m in my 50s. When I told him this, it seemed to confuse him and I ended the call. Funny enough, he kept asking me several times if I could hear him properly, like I had some hearing issues or was elderly. He spoke with a clear London or southern England accent, maybe Surrey.

Over the past few weeks, I've been getting loads of calls from this number but never picked up. They never drop a message either, so I have no clue who they are. Probably just scammers, honestly. Wish they'd find something legit to do instead.
