I’ve encountered a message from MS Windows Defender indicating that my computer has been locked due to accessing websites associated with identity theft. Apparently, I'm supposed to ring the support number listed above to sort this out. Quite concerning, isn't it?

I got a call about a competition I supposedly entered through some 'my offers' thing to become a product reviewer. They said I'd been picked to review products and get freebies. Then the guy switched the topic to a lottery competition he could sign me up for, asking for my bank details like sort code and account number. I didn’t feel right giving that info and said no. He started getting a bit pushy, so I just hung up.

Apparently, I've "won" a large sum of money from a contest I never even signed up for! They asked me to share my bank info so they can send the cash. The scary part is, someone out there will probably believe it - otherwise, these con artists wouldn't keep trying this stuff.

I entered a competition but couldn’t really catch what the caller was saying because there was loads of noise in the background from their call centre. In the end, they just ended the call.
