My computer suddenly turned off while I was using it. A message popped up with a phone number to call, but I couldn’t close the message no matter what I tried. So, I just unplugged the power, waited a bit, and turned it back on. Thankfully, it’s all working fine now.

My dad’s laptop got frozen and he ended up calling the number that popped up on the screen. After a quick chat of about a minute, he hung up. Last night, me and my son managed to get him to turn the laptop off and roll it back to an earlier restore point. Looks like we’ll have to properly sort the computer out later. Today, I called the same number again but put 141 in front to block my caller ID. I acted like my PC had locked as well, and after a bit I gave the guy a load of what I really thought about the whole scam. Watch out for these guys, it’s a proper con.

Somebody got into my dad's laptop and completely locked him out. We had to ring 0204 578 4589 to sort it. They were really convincing, saying there was a £10 fee to fix the problem. They actually seized control of the laptop and later tried to make him pay £100 for a voucher, which thankfully didn’t go through. Then they had another go with a different card. Absolutely dreadful scammers, preying on older folks.

So my computer got locked and it told me to ring a certain number for Microsoft UK. But turns out it was a dodgy number. I ended up just turning off my PC and switching it on again, then made sure not to go back to that screen. Seriously, I can see how people could easily get tricked by this. Watch out, everyone!

Beware, it's a complete scam. They hijack your computer and then give you a call asking for your bank info. Never fall for it!

Got a call from this number and almost got totally duped. They seemed really convincing and smart about it, nearly handing over everything I had in my savings account. Luckily, the next day I spoke with my manager, who made me see the red flags and told me to ring up my bank straight away. I'm now sorting out a proper scan for my laptop to wipe any viruses or spyware, and got myself a fresh debit card and changed all my passwords.
