Received a call purporting to be from a firm dealing with solar panels. Upon inquiring about how they obtained my unlisted number, I was met with a rather rude response telling me to f@*k off. It strikes me that they may be flouting data protection regulations and breeching BT's guidelines on cold calling. I certainly suspect they might be up to no good!

He claimed to be John representing a solar panel firm. Ended the call abruptly. I did a bit of digging online and found no trace of such a business. However, there was a company registered in London by the name of The Solar Panel Company (UK) Ltd, but it appears to have been dissolved back in 2016. Quite suspicious, if you ask me!

Been getting loads of calls from this solar panel scammer who uses all sorts of fake numbers, sometimes I get like ten calls in a single day! I’ve blocked over 60 different numbers from them already. They always say they’re "John from the Solar Panel Company" or sometimes "John from the Driveway Surfacing Company". The voice sounds totally fake or like it’s been electronically altered every time. So annoying!

I use B. T. Call Guardian, which prompts callers to state their name prior to connecting the call. As there was no such announcement from this number, the call didn’t go through. However, it did appear on my phone. After reading the feedback from others, I’ve decided to block this number. Cheers for the advice!

I received a call claiming to be from "Jess at Solar Energy Advice," inquiring whether I was still the proprietor of my home. Naturally, I questioned how they could identify me without me disclosing my details. It struck me as odd, as I suspected the introduction was merely a pre-recorded message-it was repeated verbatim! They then asked for my phone number, to which I inquired about the necessity of sharing it. I was told it was so their manager could return my call. Curious about the source of their information, I asked how they obtained my number, but before I could get a proper response, the line went dead.

I had a rather similar experience earlier today. The caller inquired whether I was the property owner. When I politely declined to provide that information without knowing who I was conversing with, their tone became rather terse. I reminded them that their reluctance to disclose their identity wasn't doing their reputation any favours.
